need help with greaves

i want to make the greaves (not sure if that is right but i mean the armor around the thighs) and shins of my armor all round, like the RCs, but im having trouble finding the right shapes. i do not like using other peoples templates so i was wondering if any one knows any good way of doing it myself, any good techniques?

Theres no reason not to start with someone elses template shape. If you really want to make your own, first make a leg cast out of duct tape. Put on a old pair of sweat pants, and tape the whole leg up med tight.

Then when the tape is thick and firm, and you cant bend your leg, cut the back out of the sweat pants, and tapt it back together carefully. Now you have a nice leg to work on.

Lay some thick material, carpet, rubber that drapes but holds its shape on the leg, then start drawing, and once you have drawn, cut it. Once its the right shape, copy it onto your plastic then flip it over and copy it again. Now you have both thigh armour pieces.
