My ROTJ Boba Fett thread

I just saw this thread lol....lookin good so far! I was gonna tell you how i cut out the key slots but i see you did a bang up job on em!

The mandible i usually hit it from the inside with a sanding drum on the dremel to even out the thickness of it, it still looks a little thick on the bottom there. You may want to sand the inside along the entrie mandiable as well to make it more flat if that gap bothers you. you'll never get completely gone, but you may be able to reduce it a little bit more.

Wasteland is correct, sandpaper will take off any straglers!....as you probably know by now lol

If you have one of those hand sanding block things you attach the sandpaper too id hit the backs of the ear parts with that to make sure they are nice n flat and then you can glue or screw on the ears. You may wanna hit the ear mounting areas on the helmet as well just to make sure its a good fit.

Im doing my ear molds over and actually had new RF upper ear parts made, and made the mold a 2 piece so sanding will no longer be needed to be sure there is a flat surface. If you have issues with the upper RF ear, LMK and i'll i'll send you the new ones.

I'll take some pics and show you but idk if that will be a problem. The only "issue" is the thin part of the inner upper RF ear seems a little warped but nothing some adhesive can't fix.

In the one image you can see what I'm talking about with sanding the RF stalk down a bit. Where my finger is it's perfect but on the left it's a little proud.

I really hope my mandibles don't warp cause I kinda messed up the attachments just a hair

this pic shows what I'm talking about. I kinda missed the edge a tiny bit so I super glued a nylon washer to the lens. Hope I didn't screw up

Alright guys. Update time. I got the helmet primed.

All I'm waiting on are a few more parts, my carbon paper, and a new printer. Grrrrr

Made some progress on my temporary (untill I can buy a good one) jetpack.

I'm realitivly sure this won't get 501 approved but it will work for now.
Good for test paint too.

Actually it could if you finish the details and do lots of filling and sanding, and an accurate paint job. Mine's cardboard and illustration board with 3D printed rocket and thrusters and it was approved.

Anyone got any leads on a good helmet bag? similar to the motorcycle helmets?
how do people usually transport their kit to a troop?
