My experience with Minutefett

I would be frustrated too, but at the same time I feel like my expectations for a $3,600 full suit would be much different than for the over $7,000 I have into my suit with me doing most of the work. I have spent over $2,200 on my helmet alone.

If MinuteFett promised you a 501st ROTJ, then that is what you should get unless you guys agree on something else.

Is this your full suit? Found on FB - your hats look awesome btw.

Do you have more photos you can share?

Not pricing full commissions properly is not the fault of the customer. There's a reason premium full commissions are priced $7,000-$10,000.

To boba87fett's point items were delivered and it's undisputed that nothing was correctly done and most has been returned. $3,200 for what he got is a complete bait and switch. Sorry.

There are more questions on this forum alone that have been unanswered by MF than answered. I wonder if those who have commissions outstanding know that their jetpacks aren't Fett Pride either...

Agreed BudaFett. When I saw these listed last year I thought this was basically an entry level 501st, budget build deal. I couldn't find the thread where the commissions were offered, but maybe someone can?

I'm guess I am confused. What got returned and what has been kept at this point? That photo was from last month.

Very surreal to think that stapling velrco to the belt is acceptable, the obvious over spray on the visor and the fanny pack contraption is bizarre. I wish I could see the nail on the gauntlet, unreal.

$3600 is a bargain, a case of "too good to be true" kind of bargain. I would be upset if I received this kind of quality for a quarter of that price. Bendingoak is furious, rightfully so.

Here’s the pic of the gauntlet and nail.

Originally I wasn’t going to say anything as I just wanted to be rid of dealing with him and then the pandemic hit and had to focus on my business.

I went on the Facebook page looking for help on how to fix the range finder. Several people guess who the vendor was. A few contacted me privately and told me their story and said I should post it here to help others not get scammed.

As for me calling him a thief. What else would you call someone who delivers what he has done to me and others????

The person who made the Electronics for the range finder Contacted me and is helping me for free as he does not like seeing his product not working correctly and cares about costumer satisfaction and I’m not his customer. Something Minutefett lacks in greatly.

I think an entry level 501st budget at any price point would have all items in new condition, not repaired with bad glue jobs, held together with nails, servo kit that isn't working, etc. Not to mention the whole jet-pack situation. The commission came with a fully painted jet-pack. He was refunded $400 which leaves him $50 short of being able to even buy a new kit let alone the paint job that goes into a ROTJ jet-pack.

I can't answer what was kept and what wasn't but this is clearly not the only issue or person that is having issues with MF.

That is me and the commission

- still working on fixing the helmet.
- I had to fix both gauntlets.
- I have to fix one of the knee guards,
- I had to repair the leather belt
- I had to fix the rope belt
- i have to replace the bolts and screw for the neck/back piece
- I had to replace the bolts screw for cod/ butt plates

- I have to get a kit for the jetpack and have it painted got back $400 costing me $800
Minutefett is selling them for $450???

- I had to replace the blaster
- I am still looking for my shin tools.

I should not have to do this much work and replace broken items and missing items. It’s not my fault for the bait and switch and the crappy work.

Thanks for proving my point.

You wanted more information and facts. At least get yours right. You would not be this happy if you were in my shoes. It seems this is not the first time with Minutefett. Several people have this problem with him. That is a pattern. I’m not asking anything from anyone including Minutefett at this point.

I was asked to post this thread by a few people from Facebook so others don’t get scammed. I did my good deed and I get attacked by you.

I’m done, I’m out.

And please, if you get scammed ever. I’ll be there waiting to sham you.

This is a general question from someone whose been following this thread, as well as others that are similar in nature (regarding vendors and experiences).

I don’t want this taken the wrong way but so many people say to “do your research before making a purchase”, and it’s something that I thought I did when I made my purchase from Fettpride so many years ago. But it’s difficult for someone brand new to this community to know what to even search for regarding vendors. Having these types of conversations tucked away in the Sarlacc, in my opinion makes it more difficult for people to be informed.

The admins here have done a great job in establishing preferred vendors lists, and I don’t know what the answer is - obviously moving this content here keeps the main threads “clean”, but these are informative discussions.

Just a perspective from someone that THOUGHT they did their research...

EDIT: I should clarify after re-reading what I wrote - I am not referring to Minutefett. I have no experience with him as a client, except for him offering to fulfill my outstanding order with Fettpride. I was referring to my initial order!

There seams to be a lot to unpack here, and emotions can run high when money and passions are involved. I followed the original FB post, concerned as any of us would be for a fellow trooper, and the photos did show questionable products. After reviewing the screenshots from MinuteFett, I'm left more unsure about all of this, as they do appear to show a, at the least, content customer until the end.

In all fairness to the OP, he did not want to reveal the seller in his FB post and was simply asking for help fixing a servo issue, but he was goaded into it, then encouraged to post this thread, and here we are. I feel for the buyer, but I also sympathize with the seller, as he faces routine scrutiny on this forum (sometimes deserved and sometimes not deserved).

It saddens me to see victim blaming over the price and character assassination against the seller. Both seem to have had a role in this deal not working out.

Full disclosure: I have had two transactions with MinuteFett, in both cases he communicated with me sufficiently and delivered the product, and I'd say that his pricing matched the finished product.

It was $3600 not $6000.

he said he was going to refund me as I was being a pain in the ass but he took longer then he said he would and I just asked him to send me the final parts and the $400 and I would walk away. As it wasn't Making progress.

I did get the chest electronics and the replace my code piece but that’s it. Costing me more then $400 to get a kit. Costing me to buy a harness.

getting help from my garrison on fixing everything. I just want to finish the build and have him out of my life. Asked for help on the Facebook group on what could be wrong with the servo and couple people asked if it was Minutefett.

Pandemic started popping up and got distracted with figuring Lucky Patcher Kodi nox how to keep my own business going. Now that I got that under control pulled out the helmet to see what I could do. Found out today much more about Minutefett. Hoping this saves someone from making my mistake.
flight suit didn’t fit and the armor part was put on by lapel pin backing. Never stayed on. No electronics for the chest armor. Got a replacement but no slits for harness straps to go through. New replacement backing works better but I know I’m going to loose a couple.

I don't really do Facebook. What was said and where was this goading?

A fair assessment, articulated clearly and my opinion as well.

I apologize if what I said came off as victim blaming. My intent wasn't to victim blame the buyer because of the low price he paid. Just pointing out that for like $1k you get a Rubies Halloween costume and for $7k you get a screen accurate Boba Fett suit - in between is the transition from one to the other side of that spectrum.)

MinuteFett doesn't always have the very best attention to detail or follow through and I bring it up to him every time I see it. Not just my issues, but I text him about other people's issues as I see them as well. Since he is still learning to be a prop maker, he constantly offers to fix issues and send replacements - usually with extra stuff to make up for it. I have personally ordered several items from him at this point of my build and he has always addressed every issue I've had until I am satisfied.

I have purchased thousands of dollars in pieces from several different vendors on TDH. They all have their strengths and weaknesses, but since I've been on here it looks like only MF gets attacked the way he does. And I personally hate when I see people get picked on. This is the only place in my life I see someone get nagged constantly. He does deserve some criticism, but there is a difference between criticism and people constantly responding to him in a critical spirit. It's clear there are people with other motives that post immediately as soon as they see that they have a chance to criticize him.

Certain individuals are waiting for him to make a mistake so that they can report him, bash him and/or harass him and I don't buy that it is for the sole purpose of protecting the community, especially when they are bumping other vendor's threads on behalf of the other vendors lol.

And at the same time, certain other vendors have threatened to sell off their assets in order to put MinuteFett out of business if he competed with them and caused them to lose money. That same individual pushed the OP to post this thread from the FB post.

What I don't really see is people with no motives bashing MinuteFett. It is super refreshing when someone posts something fair.
