Great work! Is there any particular reason you are upgrading to an MS2? The extra dome space for a larger noggins, perhaps? Just asking because you have a fantastic paintjob on a helmet that is currently the closest to the real deal.

Okay you got me...I have a Big Noggin....
Seriously though, Mainly Three reasons..
1.No offense to Marrow-Sun, but I don't like the Right (Rangefinder side) Ear Piece on the current MS, it just not right. If you look at all the REF Pics it's Three separate pieces. In saying that the MS2 has that real deal look on the ear piece, Great job Marrow.
2. The Dent, the dent on the MS has always looked off from the real deal. SO with that I have already started to reshape (meaning filing and sanding) a more ridged DENT to be more Movie Accurate on my MS2.
Besides I have always wanted a MSH helmet , but I really don't want to pay that much. Even though to me it would be worth it. Call me cheap.
3. I haven't seen anyone do a ESB MS2 yet....I thought I'd try and be the first.

Yes, the ear pieces are one of the weaker parts of the Mystery Helmet because they were cast into the helmet, every Mystery type helmet I have seen (the 4 four originals) has the ears cast on. So, that is definitely an improvement.

I have to disagree with your evaluation of the dent, however. All the dents are the same (minus the physical damage added to the ROTJ) and the Mystery Helmets all have dents cast from a real dent.

But, that's the beauty of having many helmets to choose from! One can always buy the helmet that fits their ideal image of the helmet. :cheers

Going with the MS2...is there enough size difference to motivate you to make the change?...is the size of the MS2 similar to the MSH2? I have a pretty big melon myself so needless to say I have gone through a few helmets as well:facepalm

But this was painted over 2 1/2 years ago....

With the use of different techniques, different color selctions and "mixtures", I paint a little different now compared to two years ago..

I still love looking at this thread, it reminds me of how far I've come...

I'll post some pictures of the first helmet I ever painted back in 1999... ..talk about a real laugh....

And Dean, send it to me and I'll "fixer up"
