Lowberg's Nomad Fett Build

I didn't think I would be doing another Boba costume, but I have the itch to do something different so I'm going to be attempting to build the nomad tusken robe version of Fett. Excited to learn some new costuming skills with this as I plan to make most all of my own soft parts.

Going to start with the Robe and upper soft parts and tackle the hakama pants last.

Doing some Fabric research I've ordered some boucle wool blend fabric that is the closest I can find without being absurdly expensive. I think it will give a similar appearance once roughed up and pilled.

I was able to find a few photo's of Temuera's stunt double with the robe off, and assuming the undergarments are constructed the same I'm going to be constructing them based off them. I'm guessing the vest is some sort of fleecy wool and the shirt and neck cowl some sort of silk or linen.

Excited to dive into something different...but still Boba

First sewing challenge down! I built the robe from the boucle wool Honestly came out pretty good as I'm not very skilled on the sewing machine. I used a cheap $10 amazon jedi robe as a template, modified it a bit for larger sleeves and separate panels of material on the bottom.

Lol that's a big gun indeed (and I thought my DLT-19 was huge). Good start, you nailed the robe!

Some small updates as I wait for fabric to arrive. Been working away at the cycler rifle, using KR-Tek's files as a base and making some modifications, such as designing my own barrel end, greeblies ect. It's been a PITA to just prep and fill layer lines on this thing but it's almost ready for paint.

Accumulating some accessory stuff: ammo belt & holster, gloves and handplates and some tri colored rope to make the girth belt.

Forgot to share some updates on this project soo prepare for pic heavy update!!!!

The cycler rifle and sling has been completed. It's huuuugee

Gloves: I had to do an exchange on the Patrol X black gloves. I initially measured my true size for the brown, and ordered 1 size bigger for the black, but ultimately had to go 2 sizes up on the black to fit the black over the brown with my hand in it as there was just no way it was going to work with 1 size up for me (I couldn't even close my fingers )

Once I got the right sizes figured out, I cut the fingers off, resin printed the hand armor and mocked things up with extra material from the robe.
I think its going to look good but still have to make a decision on how I want to attach the hand armor.

I spent a ton of time trying to track down the correct girth belt twisted decorative cord material with no luck, so I proceeded to make due with the pet hardware rope for now. I also happened to find a very close real world substitute for the cross chest strap, a guitar strap that has brown stitched over black edges.

I made my own vest/overshirt from a fleecy wool blend material. Lots of vertical quilting stitches so it was quite the project for an amateur sewer like myself lol

I have raw silk material to make the hakama pants, but I really wanted to do a test run first (since the silk fabric is expensive).
So I made a rough draft / test run version from cheap black cotton fabric.

Test fit with the vest, and rough draft hakama pants. The vest really widens the shoulders and adds to the boxy look which I'm happy with

And lastly I got my boot covers in from CrowProps, which while they fit me well I'm honestly little disappointed in the quality.
They are padded material skinned with the thinnest leather I've ever seen and because of this the leather puckers and wrinkles way too much.
There should be some wrinkles and folds happening but not like this lol I'll likely just have to live with this for now and the robe will conceal much of them anyways.

So next on the to-do list:
Make an undershirt with raw silk neck cowl
Make the final version of the Hakama pants with raw silk
Get started on the Gaffi stick!
