I dremmeled it in half, polished it off a bit, and used 2-part 5-minute epoxy to stick it in place.
Whatcha think?

Also, I've gone with the "Velcro the visor in" idea.
It seems to work quite well! Sadly, the visor's not QUITE as easy to see through as it was when I got it, as I had to reheat it a bit to get it into the right shape to fit the helmet... It warped slightly.
Still... It could be worse!
