knee armor

I was looking through the gallery and I found pictures in separate albums showing the knee armor with the knee darts being worn on the inside of the leg and also of ones where the darts were on the outside..is there a correct side to which these should be worn or is it mostly based on preference?

They should always be on the outside portion of the knee. Sometimes they do not get all portions of the costume set properly for the displays and in some spots in ESB they are even on upside down.
