Well, I finally got validated here.

Glad everyone likes my pattern. There's roughly 12 hours into it, and my eyes are still not back to normal. I plan to look it over again tonight, and change the colors around. I just used the eye dropper tool in photoshop to quick fill in the colors on the original. I too now believe the base fabric to be white.

Why talk with a custom printer about the socks? Get them from the company that supplied them for the movie. They are supposed to be available before Halloween.

I'll take 4 yards (enough for an x-large shirt)...and I think a 65/34 poly blend would be best....

For those looking for a coat pattern, you can modify a Simplicity 4083 Willie Wonka coat...

...or a Laughing Moon #109 "Prince Albert" frock coat pattern....

...for a vest, use the Simplicity #4762 "D" pattern...

I found this gem at Sears today! Thanks for whoever it was to push me in the right direction. I looked for a button down shirt and vest as well at the thrift stores, and all I could find for vests was ONE white vest from The Coat Factory, but it didn't have a collar on it. :facepalm

The Tie looks ALOT more greener and close in person. -

Nice find! I snagged one of these this afternoon, the last one they had.

I would recommand trying J.C.Penny's though. I think Stafford is usually their brand. Besides they are having a buy one tie get one half off right now. And I can always use more ties for the funeral biz.

Awsome, thanks GS, I went threw the books and didn't see the vest pattern anywhere, now I don't need to worry about find one. Now for vest fabric.

I did grab a Stafford purple metalic shirt today at the Goodwill for $3, just incase. Is there an ETA on price per yard, or any sort of guestimate?

EDIT - Ya, it was JCPenny I found the tie at, and ya, 50% off the second one was nice if they had two in stock. Went to so many places yesterday Sears just stuck with me I guess. The guy at the register tried getting my to buy these cheap ties, he was so annoying at recommending me them, I finaly told him it was for the Joker, he then didn't get it. I told him I costume as the Joker from Batman, he told "Oh, well good luck with that."

I licked my lips and said "Worry about yourself there." and walked off.

Hrm, I was really hoping to contribute something to the group other than a paypal account, but all the research material I've come across has been linked here (including the fabled suspenders) and it would be redundant to repost.
I do not recall anyone mentioning a knife, however.

Alright, after talking briefly with Kwally89 about adjustments I present Version 3.0.

What I refer to as the "Ninja Star" pattern which Seven brought up in post #191 has been adjusted yet again to include the correct number of "stars". Not sure how I screwed that up twice before.

The background has been made white, and the rest has a bit more blue in it.

Thoughts?

A lot of printers will use vectors to preserve the highest quality - if you need that transfered into vector, I can offer my services for that.

First, I would like to say thanks to you for all your hard work and crossed eyes... :wacko

Second, I think that this looks wonderful.
Hopefully, now that the background is white, this will put to rest the arguments about the base material color. Stare at it for just a little bit and the illusion is that the white background looks like a very light shade of lavander.

Last, I think the pattern color is as close as possible without having held the real thing in our collective hands.

I made the image in Photoshop 7, so I have the original with all the different layers saved as a *.PSD file. Obviously the images I'm hosting on my photobucket are all *.JPG's. I didn't get too far into what all vector images are and how to save them in my Graphic Design class back in High School, so I'm about clueless there.

I was talking to a on the side Graphic Designer friend of mine who said to maybe try saving the original *.PSD as a *.EPS or *.PDF file. But then I still wouldn't know if that would be correct. Anyone know? I could always just e-mail you the original file if I can't get it to work.

And thanks to everyone for the compliments! It means a lot to my super anal engineering side.

The best reference for the blazer under the coat is the scene where the mob bosses are meeting, and the Joker opens his coat to show the grenades. You can REALLY see it nicely! I didn't study it too much, but it is obviously a blue and it seems to have black stiching blended in to darken it.

I tried to convert it to a vector a couple days ago, Pinder. It smoothed the edges so much that the stars turned into messed up boxes.
