doh thats correct...but still not bad altough maybe it is when my coat is gonna be 175 lol but my aunt sews so ill just have her do it for me lol maybe i can sneak into 3 yards...im only trying to make a medium anyways anyone know if 3yds is enough... im about 6ft 160-165lbs

Not that I don't appreciate what Kwally and Pinder are doing, but I was a bit shocked myself to see 35-40 buckes per yard....I think it's like buying a new car: you kick the tires and walk around it, but you don't buy it at the first lot you come to. If someone could call around to 3 or 4 different screen printers, and get different bids, then maybe it could be had for a lot less than that per yard...us fat boys (XL) would need around 4 yards to make a shirt, and that's 140-150 bucks a pop, tailoring NOT included, to have a wearable piece...not to mention a lot of folks are making coats out of melton wool, which ain't cheap, either....I can see this costume cost mounting, and a lot of people can't spend that much for fabric.
Another alternative is having someone with artistic skills make S,M, L and XL patterns for the shirt, and print just the pattern pieces on the fabric, so they could be cut out and assembled into a shirt; custom tailoring could come later, if need be.
Or, you could get enough printed fabric for the sleeves, collar and front of the shirt (the parts that show when wearing a jacket), and make the rest out of plain white fabric....

I've actually been talking with 3 different companies, but some of them just don't practice good business. The company I have been speaking with the vp took over a week between emails!! I have a feeling that it will take a lot longer to call me. This company that gave me this quote has responded within 24 hours for every inquiry I've given them. I'm definetly going to emphasize to them that 430 yds at $33 or so is going to cost me nearly $12,000. The only thing is that I'm moving in to my dorm on Saturday and tons of you guys have been on me to get this done with an accurate price. Well, I thought it would be more expensive, but whatever I guess. I'll try to get it cheaper, but I already stated that this wasn't going to be a $13 a yard project here. $100 for fabric is A LOT cheaper than $900 for a completed shirt.

I too have gone to multiple places in my area to get this kind of thing done and none of them would even attempt it.
That, in addition to the ridiculous prices being charged on eBay (you know who you are), is what brought me here.
$35 a yard is a crazy good deal for custom printed, one of a kind fabric!!!
I dare anyone else on this forum to find a company willing and able to do it for anything less than that.
I am not sure what everyone really expected for a project of this kind.
As for alternatives, such as a big company (ie Rubies) :rolleyes doing them before Halloween don't hold your breath... I also wouldn't be caught dead in it, even if they did make it. I am too much of a perfectionist when it comes to this sort of thing.
Speaking of perfectionism, Ct Joker... I do like your darker colors on the Pinder pattern.
I personally think that if I can get two shirts worth of material for less than $200 that is a @#%$&* good deal...
I don't think any of us wil find a better deal for something of this accuracy and quality...

We are begging for prolly the single most sought after piece of Costume ART ever! I'll take what I can get and what KWALLY and Pinder have put together is quite Scrumptous. Anywho what I came on here to say was I found a frugal option for the Joker tie. I'll put the pic in later, but trust me go to Wal-mart look in the George brand silk ties and you find what I am talking about. No question and for 9.98. I bought two!!! I'll put the pic up later.

And if you register with them, you can get email coupons, sometimes 50% off, and they send 40% coupons quite a bit. You can use them on one cut of fabric, or almost anything else in the store.
Ctjoker, I do like the color change you made. Although it looks like it blurred some of the pattern a bit.
I had someone else mention Inkscape to me, so I'm going to try and get ahold of it and see what happens.
As far as price... that's on the cheap side of what I was thinking. It's really not that expensive in the end, especially if you're getting the tie from Turnbull & Asser.

I hope we don't end up with haters. I had NO idea what the cost would be. I asked and I asked for a ballpark idea. I apologize to everyone. I did state it all depended on price.
Kwally and Pinder have done an excellent job. There is always a critic and what you need to say to them, and what I say to them, is if you want to complain, go do it yourself.

I am also very happy with the price. I hoped for below 60-65. So I am still very very happy. So No hate here.
I just looked at the list of people on the first page and noticed that only about 15 out of 66 people have posted yardage needs next to their names. I really hope that is not a reflection of those that are really interested. That could have a negative effect on the price per yard. 
Come on everyone, we are all here for a purpose. To get the best quality and most accurate replica of the TDK Joker shirt for the most reasonable price. Personally, I think that has been accomplished. Kwally, Pinder,and many others have put in a lot of hard work to make this happen.

Alright, so I got a copy of Inkscape. This thing may take some time to get used to. For now, I just opened up my updated jpeg, that I posted last night, and resaved it as a vector image. I don't know if I need to do anything else with it. Where's all the graphic designers? Maybe that will be all the printers need.
I do have to still change the color to reflect what ctjoker posted. I do like that a bit better. And I've found it helps to get up out of my chair and step back like 10ft... really brings to color out. That or just zoom way out in photoshop.

Well, if all else fails, you could always drop them a line saying that you have 65+ people on an intrest list, and some are backing out due to the price. That being said, we've got 66 people on the list, if evryone of them came through (that'll never happen.) for 3 yards, for $35 a yard, we're talking about $6930. If they would drop their price, say, just $5 a yerd, to $30 a yard, it would be $5940 for all 66 of us. Thats nearly $1000 we're talking about, yet only $15 "more" per person.
Sommers material for a viper suit, which is jumpsuit was $52 a yard. And we're talking about non-custom, non fan specific prints here, that Sommers wouldn't hardly let go of. 180 yard minimum order, and before that, it was 360 I do beleive. So $35 isn't THAT bad. It could be worse, and is a far cry from $800 for a shirt. BUT, it is quite a bit of money. And I deffintly don't have anything against anyone who backs out due to price. Because frankly, now I've got to decide if my $40 joker, run of the mill suit will be a super screen accurate one, and be one of my "main" costumes for $200 or more.
EDIT - On a side note, I'm having a garage sale this Friday and Saturday, so I should have a decision soon.
I've also got to see what my pattern tells me, and I won't have that (hopefully if they have it.) till next week. So we'll see here soon.

Well a lot of times they can handle vector files - as is.
And Pinder if you need a hand with the vector, let me know.
As for the Price issue. $35 really isnt that bad for CUSTOM printed fabric.
I DID check around to the best of my ability. Its not just screen printing. I was outright told by one place that printing it edge to edge would be well over 100 dollars. So its finding a textile printer.
But getting them to drop by 5 dollars a yard WOULD be ideal.
I'm in the process of trying to get more people around me who would want one.
I don't see any haters around. We all know how hard these guys are trying to give us a good price for an excellent product. While I was thinking more in the 20-25 range per yd as many were after doing some research it seems 35 is very fair. Still expensive but you have to pay to play the Joker. I will get 3 yds as I think that'll be enough for me according to simplicity. If the price gets higher though and people drop out it'll be hard to get this going due to higher prices. If I can't get this by Halloween though it won't be worth the price for me, so I hope this comes together real soon..
BTW Ct Jokers is the right color and should be used over the lighter one..
