Hytech Toyz too Quiet?

TheViceroy

New Hunter
I just bought the Hytech Toyz "MANDALORIAN BOBA FETT HELMET VOICE CHANGER COSPLAY SET WITH SPEAKER & MICROPHONE" and it is very quiet. Do you guys have any tips for making this work for my Jango build? Is there anything I can get that might enhance sound? Pictures for reference.

Try testing other microphones to see if that's the issue. If it doesn't help then look to swap out the speaker for an amplifier. There are plenty of options on amazon, get something that is at least 10 watts.

I prefer higher but 10 will work. Jango unfortunately does not have large enough pockets to hide an amplifier well, so I attach mine to my jetpack harness under my flak vest.

Another thing that you can do is swap the speaker out for an exciter. An exciter is much smaller and can produce a lot of volume when used correctly. The face of it should be against a hard flat surface (like behind an armor plate or in the helmet) to resonate the sound. These work very well but will require some work to get it hooked up.

Lol. I tried that same set up. I sent it right back on eBay.

This is the set up I got. It’s extremely loud. I have to put it almost on the lowest setting.

This has a controller that can mount on your hand, under your glove. You can also predownload sounds. Like the sound of his westars or his movie lines. Theres some good ones from the starwars bounty hunter game too.

DrToothache has great suggestions. If you want to keep your set up.

Thank you, I just assumed (what does assuming get anyone?) since it legit said it was for a Mandalorian helmet. Shame too because I can tell it was comfortable.

Thank you! I will investigate some of these, that's awesome that you have so much insight!

Well the problem is that I would have to pay for the shipping it looks like... They have to know their product is kind of a lemon...

I also have CosVox...it seems like we have very similar builds! I will second your statement - the CosVox is a great media device for cosplaying and comes with a great microphone and amplifier if you buy the full kit.

I would like to add Battlefront II (the new one) to your list of sound sources. Temuera Morrison did all of the Boba Fett lines in the game, a lot of which work well with a Jango build. I didn't even think of the star wars bounty hunter game for voice lines - even better!

TheViceroy The amplifier that it comes with is a rebranded Norwii amp, which is one of the amps that is great for converting to use an exciter instead of the included speaker (if you ever decide to try that route). Gives you some flexibility :)

It's been a while since I purchased it but I believe it is priced very competitively too.
