New Hunter
I'm an undergraduate mechanical engineering student working on a research project involving advanced manufacturing and CAM in Siemens NX. As part of this work, I’m trying to machine a model of Han Solo in Carbonite. However, I’ve been running into significant issues with toolpath generation and surface finishing using STL files due to the mesh quality and lack of solid geometry features.
I’m reaching out to see if anyone might have—or be willing to share—a STEP file version of a Han Solo in Carbonite model. Having a solid model would help tremendously with generating clean toolpaths and running simulations in NX.
If not, any help or tips would be greatly appreciated. This project is part of a larger study on design for manufacturability and creative prototyping. I’d be more than happy to share my progress, tooling setup, or results if you're interested!
