Helmet paint

Hey, just need some clarification. I painted my helmet (it still needs more attention) with the recommended colors, but no one ever specified the finish, not to mention, it's not always clear with Krylon, so it seems I have to deal with gloss royal blue and matte ocean blue. Any ideas on how to correct that, or do I HAVE to find the same finish for both colors? Because I'm having a hard time finding them online, or at least I don't know which is the correct one. Only advice I found is to wet sand the paint, and I'm not sure if that's a good idea or not.

(And please don't point me to Cruzer's helmet tutorial because it's too complicated and overwhelming. It would have to be severely dumbed down for me to follow; not to mention, he doesn't specify on the paint textures.)
