Heads Up for US Fett Builders

IMPORTANT: I want to start by saying I DON'T want this to turn into a political debate. I am also NOT commenting on any policy or politician in the United States. I am mainly making this as a heads-up for people in the US planning to buy internationally. Admins, please feel free to take this down if this violates any TDH policy, but I dont think it does.

That being said, I had a big surprise today! And not a good one.

I purchased two Kuhnke couplings from Bürklin.com in Germany. Based on my research, there was no place to buy this part in the US. This is one of the ports on the bottom of Boba's jetpack, next ot the XLR port. From my understanding, this is the found part, or at least close to what we assume to be the found part.

I had to purchase two because you need to spend over $100 to have an order shipped to the US.

When my package arrived today, the UPS delivery guy informed me that I would need to pay $220 in import fees before I could get it! This was after I spent 103 Euros with Bürklin. I almost thought I was being scammed at first. But I called UPS directly, and it turned out to be the case.

If I had known I would have to spend $220 in fees, I wouldn't have ordered the part, but what's done is done. So, US buyers beware, this is a factor when you buy internationally, I completely forgot it was. If you need a part from overseas, you will need to weigh whether you really need the part or try to get it second-hand. If you have to buy directly, make sure you factor these fees into your budget.

All that being said, I planned on selling one here on the TDH. I'll have to sell it for more now because of the import fees. I will be selling it for the cost or a little lower, I haven't decided yet. I will make a separate for-sale thread once UPS drops off the package tomorrow, but if this interests you now, DM me.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk lol!
