Hello,

I am selling a brand-new, genuine Kuhnke coupling for $170. I will cover shipping. US only for now.

Based on my research, there was no place to buy this part in the US. This is one of the ports on the bottom of Boba's jetpack, next ot the XLR port. This is the found part according to this thread:

I will sell this at cost. I had to buy two because Bürklin wouldn't ship to the US unless you spend over $100. I paid $121 for two of them, including shipping. Then I had to pay $220 of import fees. Divide all that by two, and you get around $170. I will attach my invoice below.

Apologies for the higher price. I originally planned to sell one for $60, but I forgot to account for import fees.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you,

Tom

Dang! And I thought when I ordered mine it was expensive. (I paid $75) But these 'Found Parts' do make it look bad ass! Even if, no one can see em' while you're wearing it.
;) (y)

Hope it goes to a good home!

How in the world are the import fees double the cost of the item? That sounds like some sort of crazy error. It should be a percentage, not a flat rate. No?

A decent portion of it is probably UPS' "brokerage" fee. I've run into it a few times when shipping internationally recently. The actual tariffs might be say $50 but UPS might charge you another $40 to deal with the governments, figure out how much you owe, and all the 'administrative' things that go with it. With the numbers changing seemingly weekly UPS is probably charging like crazy to deal with it all.

Sometimes UPS will break down what was government import vs "brokerage charges" in your UPS account if you have one.

Now when I ship internationally I usually tell people I can ship either. UPS is faster, but you might be hit with a lot of fees if they feel like it where as postal service is slow but if there are fees they will most likely be less as your post office isn't charging all the extra stuff to do their job.

I thought the same exact thing. I thought I was being scammed at first. Ive never had a UPS delivery guy come to my door an say I need to pay import fees before he can hand me my package.

But I called UPS, it was true. They gave me no explanation as to why it was so high.

But yes, 220 is absolutely absurd, I have no idea why it was so high. I saw on Reddit that you can be blacklisted from UPS if you don't pay it, so I had to bite the bullet.

As someone who doesn't have a firm understanding of tariffs or trade policy, my best guess is I hit a category of product that's has an insanely high tariff right now.

I tried to contact Burklin, I don't speak German and their contact system wasn't working for me.

So just a bad situation all around.

This was the case with mine. I have the breakdown at home. But if I recall correctly, the import fee was still super high. I think it was like 50 or 60 bucks for the brokerage fee.
