hey all,

i usually post over at the rpf but i just got a fett helemt tonight. Couldn't afford a fiberglass one so for now the dp will do. Kinda using this as an intro so here's some info: 23 year old graduating senior at cal state long beach, i only have a biker scout costume and i'm starting to pick up a few sabers, about to jump into fett(don't know what i'm thnking i don't have much money:D) and i have been on this board for a bit but i don't post much, just kinda read up.

anyways seeing if anyone has any recommendations, i was thinking of jango, boba or a custom. Any ideas? i was thinking of red and black for a custom. oh well let me know what you all think.

thanks in advance

Well let me start out by saying of course you should do Boba, who else is there??? But welcome to the board soldier, its the best place around for the exact questions you are after...

I don't seem to see anything about your height and weight, you must have forgotten :D Just that you are 23 and in school .... I would say start collecting the pieces for a Fett suit, if it becomes too expensive and you only have some of the pieces then you could do a custom. Just don't paint it red

 well not too fat, kinda short, but yeah it would be mostly black with some red trim on the visor

Welcome aboard Matt!! It was great building and completing the Biker Scout costume with you, and I know it will be another great experience to work on the Fett helmets together.

I think you should go with a Jango Fett paint scheme. Fill in the dent, and go silver & blue. Hey, call me when you get the helmet at the post office!!

I would do a Boba first, Jango's alot easier so if you really want to you can do him later.

ESB or ROTJ? Well, I'm doing ROTJ just to be a heathen. :D

The thing is the ROTJ suit just has a TON of reference material out there and there is a VERY VERY VERY small amount in comparison for the ESB Fett suit. I don't even believe there is one good shot showing the entire chest armor, am I right here?

But hey if you want to save some cash, ESB is probably the cheaper suit! And it has less color in it than ROTJ, so you don't have to worry about buying all that paint!

Howdy Mkn177!

And welcome to the board for all your Bounty Hunter needs. :D

BTW, nice choice on a custom color. I'm doing that color too. :D

Stay safe.

Tim.

ok, this thread is putting my replies in the middle and not at the bottom, weird :facepalm

Just wondering why jango would be easier. He has more armor, his belt his harder to make and so on. I'm making a boba and thought Jango would be harder to make. What's the general consensus on this?

Mkn177,

Sorry dude, no pics yet. Soon I hope. :D

As for doing a Mandalore, there's only one hunter to do. BOBA FETT. The Original Bounty Hunter. Enough said.

Stay safe.

Welcome!!! This the best place for info. but my vote is for JANGO. I am also starting, and restarting my first Fett. Take your time and have FUN. See ya in the stars.

Well we are doing both costumes; ESB fett and Jango.
and it is kinda hard to tell for sure which has been the hardest. :confused
Jango needs more armor and so far there hasn't been any templates for it; therefore you have to sorta make it yourself with whatever references you have.
However Jango's armor doesn't have all the dents, scratches, and other weathered effects as boba has, plus it is all one color; with the exception of his helmet and jet pack.
But also since AOTC just came out, you can buy the holsters, guns, and helmet online or at a store(granted they aren't the greatest, but it'll work if you can't get/make anything else any better for whatever reasons, like money. ;))
Jango also doesn't have all the extra stuff like a cape, braids, or those little cubes that attach his neck armor to his back armor, and his cod to his butt plate(which is another thing jango doesn't have) ;)

But just for the sake of stopping this essay of rambling, I'll just say that between the 2 that Jango might be A little easier. but so far I really can't say. and it really depends on what you define as being "easy".

If anybody else has any different reasons/ideas; agrees, or disagrees with us, then do not hesitate to post.

that's just our 2 cents. :)
and as for which suit you should do, I say just make the one that you like the best/prefer.
