Definately to big as it doesn't go under the Maclow clip. This raises the question are all sidewinders flash tubes to long or just mine? I am going to have to cut it down around 20mm
The lights and sounds are fitted into the plug so unfortunately I can't cut the plug away. Waiting on a heiland flash to arrive so I will practice on the current tube
Ah Funkyred makes sense. I wonder if you could see the electronics intact with the plug and place it in the heliand and then slide it into the EE3 barrel.
I spent days looking at photos. And measuring with calipers. This is what I started mine on. The major thing that was surprising at the end of it, is the thickness of the mount is smaller than most think. as compared to the depth of the molex.
Heres one of my wip renderings. If you want the files to print to compare to yours you or anyone else is welcome.
I think I have another version on my design pc where I tweaked a few things. Most notibly ibelieve the rear mount has multiple depth layers either a mount under it, or a lip.
Scope molex and rings rendered for reference but not 100% accurate. Barrel is propertly sized but the angles on the breech not perfect.
I believe in the final version I also adjusted the direction of the bolts coming down out of the tube and added the wire.
I also believe the location of the molex to change occasionally as they broke off. And finally the only way to secure one propertly is to have the flatter side of the molex against the mount, and farther off the rear.
