Dying a synthetic girth belt

So, I have asked this before. I dont know how to dye my synthetic girth belt, I was told to paint it with latex paint, but I really dont know how. Latex paint easily comes off isn't that true? I mean with rubbing (flightsuit) and stuff.

Some explanation or pictures would really help me out!

not latex paint but rather latex stain. it will soak into the girth and will (for the most part) never come off.. it does make it kind of stiff but not too bad..there is a thread on dying it with stain on here... trust me.. stain is the only way to go!!
