Yeah Just to give it thickness without adding much weight, I never really liked how thin the Jango plates looked.

Ok, I'm back
Getting it together today and ready for The Force Awakens (not bringing my guns, but they know me at that theatre and are pretty used to me showing up in costume so I think they'll be chill about the helmet. Also since I live in the middle of nowhere in Canada no one's heard of the Mando mercs so I won't be misrepresenting them in any way with my slightly incomplete costume), then after the movie I'll finish up a few things and apply for the mercs.
In other news completed this quick and dirty Kylo Ren costume for a buddy in one day. He's getting the helmet and saber himself.

Started work on my long range communications/survival pack today.
It's gonna get some expanding foam and bondo treatment later this afternoon before I paint it.

I'm debating whether to make the base paint colour for it blue like the rest of the armour or olive drab like the flightsuit and hip pack.

I would try a different tone. Either the olive drab it something else. I think doing that blue would be a bit too much blue

Really Nice!! I am planning to make a custom pre vizla. I have never done it before soo if you guys have some tips? I am most likely gonna make it out of foam, because I don't think I have enough money to do it out of metal like you did. I want to ask you, how did you do the helmet?

I bought the helmet from Lonewolf Customs and am incredibly satisfied with it, but it is possible to scratchbuild helmets using the templates on this site. That's what I did for my Fett armour.
I'm still pretty amateur compared to a lot of the guys on this site, my biggest piece of advice would be to post in the main section with your questions where you can get more varied answers from more experienced people.

Alright I'm back again. Yesterday I decided to rip apart my gauntlets and redo them. I squared off the top part (will fill in the gap with expanding foam) to make it a better shape to mount rockets, a grapnel launcher, and a chrono to. Got work today but I'll do the right gauntlet tomorrow.
The rockets ended up kinda weird looking, I'm gonna clean them up and replace the nose cones.
Also got a pic of the backpack, not finished yet.

Redid the thigh plates, they are now steel instead of sintra and provide more coverage.

Alright got back at it today.
I'm redoing my vest tomorrow and switching the plates over Saturday. Using a different method so it will be a lot cleaner looking.
Really just worked on the belt pouches today. Four wood block and fake leather Fett-style ammo pouches and six PVC grenades. I'm going to add two Fett-style large pouches tomorrow, don't have the material today.
I might add a fifth ammo pouch to fill the space between the field pack and the fourth pouch.
I also made some handplates today, but I have no pictures of them

Okay I've been hard at work.
I made thigh pouches for the belt, worked on my shin armour, modified the comm pack, moved my plates to a new vest, made a backplate, and finished my handplates.
Note: In the last photo, the camera didn't focus and the light was bad, so there's that but also the vest is crooked because I can't put it on myself very well, one of the thighs is too high because the strap folded under the belt and I didn't notice, and both knees are super low but I'm fixing that right now.

Lookin good! Those pouches look great! Did you use a pattern for those? I may need to copy that style for my snowtrooper pouches
