Custom Mando Armor WIP

Hey everybody i started this thread to show you my custom mando armor progress!
Maybe like 2 years ago I was watching a special episode of the Clone Wars where Obi-Wan played his death to become Rako Hardeen and prevent Palpatines assassination.
In that episode he got a cool looking helmet (which is basically a customized McQuarrie concept helmet ) and i got inspired by it and started to make my own custom mando armor.

I'm working on the helmet since February (if you want to check it out here's the link: http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/f45/ralph-mcquarrie-boba-fett-concept-helmet-wip-51862/ )and i started the armor yesterday.

So here's the first sketch of the costume:


And here is the building process of the chest and shoulder pieces:

I've wanted to create blaster hits on the armor and i was like:

Hm... How should i make a burned effect.... oh of course. With fire (duh)



And Here is the left shoulder with an ammo pouch thing on it:

Update time! I started to make the cod piece here's how it looks right now:

I've cutted the templates from a different kind of PVC then is usually use. ( Its harder to cut harder to fom it to shape )



Little bit of bondo:


And the little square button thing ( dont know how it's called )

Finally yesterday i got my flak jacket and i attached the armor to it:

That looks good. From what I've read, you might want to move your collar up about a 1/4 inch. That will help with spacing. But man, it still looks cool.

I cant really move it up cuz' the neck of the vest is a bit big so probably i will have to make a new collar piece
anyway thank you guys for all the feedback it really helps me going on with the build !

Okay im back on track with the build here is a little update for you guys:

OMG OMG OMG! GUYS I'VE JUST FOUND THE PERFECT BOOTS !!! I was looking for them for like 2 months and now i've found the perfect pair and it cost me only like 20 dollars! look at that:


Pretty nice isn't it ?

I'm so freakin happy right now you can't even imagine
I will do the modifications soon and itt will be awesome!

All right! I've finished wrapping the boots with fabric here's how it looks right now:


As you can see i used a darker gray so i dont have to paint that much

i will add the rubber tubes (i dont know how it's called) and the spikes soon
then i will paint them

those are great boots that should work. Just finish up with some weathering. looks great
