Chest armor red film

Hi, does anyone have some reference material on the red film behind the horizontal bars in the chest armor? Its for BF ROTJ Hero. Its seems there is none, but the 501st CLR says it needs to be there. Im kinda confused.

My fettronics came with a magenta perspex square but you could use a piece or red acitate

The red acrylic is present in front of the digital display on every version of the costume.
