Can a dent be added to a non-dented helmet?

I have a helmet that has no dent. MLC2 I believe. Can I somehow add a dent to it or will I only end up breaking the helmet. I have a custom Mando that I was thinking about turing it into a "canon" character. The parts I have though are more Boba than Jango. Since the dent is such an important aspect, I need to fiigure out which way would be easiset to go.
Thanks

Yup, I've done it on a vac form helmet. I cut out the outline of the dent with a dremel, then used epoxy putty to form the actual indent.

Thanks. Just so I understand this properly; I cut a dent sized hole out of the helmet. Then I put the putty into the hole to create the dent. SO the putty will not fall out of the helmet with nothing to hold it up?

I would recommend putting something behind the hole that you cut out. When I was scratch building my helmet (card) I put a shallow cone of card behind the hole and then began to build up layers of filler. Then filed/sanded out the dent shape.
