building a outfit but not completed, should wear to a con anyway or no

I am in the process of building a boba fett, but it is not completed and there is a small con coming up. My question is should I wear a outfit not fully completed or not at all?

I think it depends on how much you have left to do. Just weathering, or you can't find that replica US Diver's buckle? Probably fine. Missing the jetpack, or the armor is still unpainted? Might want to leave it at home.

What I've seen a lot of people do is just wear the bucket along with a suit or some other interesting outfit. I'm planning on doing that at work on Halloween, if I can finish my bucket in time.
