Boba Fetts Jetpack 3D printed build

Thanks to the awesome work of RafalFett's models, I'm finally able to start building my jetpack. This will be the starting point of my Boba Fett costume...can't wait till is done! I finally found a brand / color of filament that does really well in my printer, so I'm printing one piece after another till I run out lol. Yesterday, I started with the rocket, now moving on to the body of the pack. Words cannot describe how mind blowingly epic these models are

That is pretty a friend is working with me but he doesn't have a big enough print bed so I have to figure out how to split the model into smaller pieces for printing.

That's what I'm doing. Use Netfabb basic, it'll do that pretty well.

Is there a way you could share the stls? I've been slicing and dicing at these models but no matter how clean I get them the don't quite work...it'd be a great help, but if not , carry on and share progress!

Based on my experience, you should easily be able to print the whole rocket with a single roll ($20) and probably even more (as long as you don't infill 100%)

That's cheaper than I expected. Now I have to consider getting a 3D printer.

Well I imported the jetpack body into Netfabb and chopped it up the best way I know how. It's not how I've seen prop weapons and such done, but like I said, I'm not epic at it. I'm starting with the bottom /middle, and am working my way up.

Out of curiosity, how long has each piece taken to print?

The last one was 13 hours. I'm printing at 200 microns, 50mm/s, and about 20% fill

Guess it's time for an update. I've sliced up the jetpack in two ways, one for my printer, and one for larger / taller prints. I'm in the process of building a Delta printer, which will let me print the whole jetpack in one shot (giggidy) .
