TDH: Tell us a bit about yourself and your company.
MARS: Mars is a collaboration of Robb De Nicola and Michael Thomas, both of us have been working in the art field for years. We have both worked together on past group projects, but this is the first project we worked on solely as a team. Since the "As you wish" project, we have decided to keep working on future projects under the company name of "MARS VISIONS."
TDH: What drew you to the As You Wish Helmet Project?
MARS: Mostly we were drawn to the idea of being able to work on a Make a Wish Foundation / LFL project. We also loved the idea of manipulating such an iconic Star Wars helmet from our childhood. All that combined with displaying our work along side some of the biggest names in the industry made this a project we were honored to be a part of.
TDH: What was your inspiration for the Mythosaur Hunter helmet?
MARS: We were inspired by Artist Frank Frazetta's work, as well as the symbol of the "Mythosaur" skull on Boba Fett's armor. We combined both of these ideas into one fantasy themed helmet, while trying to keep the integrity of Boba Fett's iconic design.
TDH: Tell us a little about the process of creating this helmet.
MARS: The general idea and look was already in our heads, we pretty much had the same vision when we started. As the project progressed, we collaborated and added elements seamlessly into our original design. We really wanted every aspect of this helmet to be one complete display, right down to the custom themed base it sits on.
TDH: Now that the helmet is finished, if there is one thing you could change or do differently, what would it be?
MARS: Honestly, no... we only shipped it once we were completely satisfied with the overall look of the entire display.
TDH: With your helmet finished, what is your next project?
MARS: We are currently working on a number of new projects, check our website and facebook page for updates.
