Just wondering...
Has anyone that you've heard of ever tried to make functional fett items? Obviously we don't have the technology for things like blasters and such, but what about knee darts? And a flamethrower! And real pop-out spikes like jango has! And a rope thingy! And a jet pack, and a mini rocket launcher, and maybe like a normal gun that just looks like a blaster rifle, same with the pistol! Hee, hee, hee!

You wouldn't be able to fit much fuel for the jet pack and flamethrower into the costume, but there's be room for a little...

Call me crazy, but I'd like a costume like that!

I've seen a few threads about flamethrowers. But nothing about jet packs, darts, etc. I guess it would be cool to have that stuff except that you would have pretty much zero use for it. Unless you are planning on becoming a bounty hunter or starting your own mercenary army.

Hehe I had some wicked ideas I was drawing up useing paint ball set up for the gauntlet's but decieded not to . There is a flamethrower you can make but the guy charged for it on ebay. You wanna see a vid of it there is one flaoting on utube under boba fett flamethrower. People do change names and such so might have to try a few times.

If you wanted to start bussiness I would never be worried about what my kit looks like. I would be more worried with things like how does anti-terror units work and what are their weak points ( yes they have them) and how can that be utilized to maximum benefit with common household items?

Okay, as chemist, physics guy and more, I would never have anything on wrist gauntlets or knees or helmets or jet packs or anything fly, fire, ignite, etc or you'll be the next winner of the Darwin Awards. You're really playing with 'redneck fire' and should not do it. There's a reason why most special effects are now CGI, the real deal is tricky, difficult to engineer and simply not safe to do.

Welll, the thought of having fully functional parts, or really to say, a "real life" set of mando armor would kinda awsome. I personally wouldnt mind it as long as everything works the way it should be and safely. For instance, the guanlet flamethrower, something so simple to build, its not even funny. I admit, its dangerous, I mean after all, it is a ball of fire aimed at something. I bet however, if someone took the time, had the knowledge needed, could make it work exactly how it would on a real mando's suit.

Now something I think would be the only legal thing would be a fully functional helmet. Real working rangefinder, not too far from reality, may actually be outdated lol. I rememeber seeing a video made by the army not too long ago, promoting the new technology and how it would help prevent colateral damage, and how acurate it was. In the clip, they were raiding a (assuming because they never mentioned) terrorist stronghold on a building at night. The thing was, that this "takes place" in the future, but the soldiers helmet was similar to today's kevlar, but it had what looked pretty much like what a rangefinder would look like. In the film, it displayed a soldier's medical and health status, was able to send and recieve battle ground schematics and maps, as well as take snap shots of the battle. Just to let you know, it was not the land worrior system commonly seen, this was newer. It was really neat seeing this, because I saw this just before I started getting into Fett. I'll see if I can find the video again.

It transmits the feed to a headset where, with a little elbow grease, someone could put the screen into a RF head.
I forgot the name of the toy and company, but I'd love to get one and try it.

but french policemens sometimes uses this weapon, that could be fitten into a gauntlet: the Taser X26. I fear to recieve a warning for free publicity, but it's a non-lethal weapon that throw 2 darts up to 21 feets away at an average speed of 160 feets per second. the darts are linked with the weapon and gives a high-voltage shock that paralyze the victim. Speaking of Star Wars technology used in the "real world," I've found several things that'd fit the bill. The first I saw was a Marine Biologist that studied large and dangerous Humboldt Squid. To protect himself from the squids large and razor sharp beak, he put his head together with some folks from Lucasfilm and they helped design a Stormtrooperesque set of body armor he dives in. It was a Discovery Channel documentary titled "Killer Squid."

The military has been producing some prototype HUD systems(HUD=Heads up display) for their aircraft, and now they're starting to put them into soldiers helmets, combined with a new body armor that seems awful familiar looking. In this case, you can see where science fiction can influence the technology we duplicate and manufacture...
