Anyone wash their flak vest?

Just curious if anyone has ever washed their tackle twill flak vest? I was thinking I might have a little more weathering than I want and also want to get rid of the pencil marks from mounting the armor. Will washing it damage it?

Machine wash gentle? Hand wash with Woolite? Magic eraser? Leave it be?

I've washed mine several times. I wash it in cold water, regular laundry detergent, no fabric softner. Hand wash or delicate cycle on your machine.
I tumble it just for a bit and hang it dry.
Comes out flawlessly Chris.

When I was lining up my armor I used a soft drawing pencil so unfortunately the lines would not come out of the fabric with an eraser. I used a stain removal product called "spray and wash" and rubbed out the graphite with a sponge prior to washing to loosen it up. Washed on normal warm/cold and it came out just like I wanted. Just a note though I have not added weathering yet.

I do mine just like Christi does except I don't dry mine in the dryer at all.

Same here... gentle cycle... I've not put my vest or jumpsuit in the dryer though... just in case they shrink. My suit needed it badly after Day 1 of CV

I had the same issue where I over-weathered mine also. Same advice as the rest of the crew...I threw it in the washer and dryer without any issues.
