About Komatex (sintra)

I just purchased a big 4'x8' 1/8"think sheet of Komatex. I went to this materials supplier called GE Polymershapes here in Dallas TX. Everything I have read about Komatex lead me to believe it would be a completely rigid material but the sheet that was given to me is slightly "floppy."

Ive never worked with Komatex befor so I assumed that this was the norm and left the store with the product.

Is this how the material is? Ive read that you can heat it with a gun or oven etc. and form it and when it cools it holds the shape.

I just want to make sure I bought the right stuff.

Thanx for your help and sorry for the noobary.

It depends on the thickness and the temperature of the air.

A full sheet, is pretty floppy, but a 2 inch x 2 inch square is quite rigid.

A 1 inch by 1 foot in 3 mil, would easily wrap into a circle. The rigidity is usually created by edges, corners, and backing.

what would you guys recommend in terms of Sintra thickness to do chest armour/backplate/shoulder bells?

should the stuff for knees be thicker?
