3d print new

I did read the old post, but a lot changes from year to year. I am looking at getting into the 3d printing world, but not wanting to spend a fortune. I am a computer tech by trade, and have helped set up and fix metal CNC machines and laser engravers/cutters, but have not played with 3d printers yet.

I have read a lot of reviews, but still not sure what features and specs I need to look at to pint prop and armor parts.

I know there are two types of printers, but most I hear recommend filament printers. I guess it comes down to what I will be doing and what I need to print.

thanks
