Depending on the time frame, ( read - I curently am broke ) I'd be interested. I'm not entirely confident on how a scratch built one will turn out, even with using WoF templates.

I would also be interested if you make another mold to do fibreglass ones again, especially if it was to coincide with the gauntlets so the postage was not too much to the UK.

Yeah, most of the sintra or styrene scratch built backplates I've come across looked like those usually seen on ebay. Though very economical, they usually aren't very accurate.

Your comment does bring up a good question. Would there be interest in vacformed copies of my backplate sculpt that are more economical? Unintentionally, I've only considered users of fiberglass armor, and failed to consider the many people who use some sort of plastic type armor. It would be good if I could meet the latter's backplate needs as well.

I'm going to check my resources to see if I can even find access to a vacform machine that would be large enough.

Between the gauntlet runs and holsters, I probably haven't played in over a month. I do need to log on one of these nights though and take a break.

I haven't been able to get down to the sci-fire shop to make a new/better mold for my backplates. However, for those desperate needs, I can still pull backplates from my old mold, but it's a little tougher to pull them out of the mold and they usually develop a few cracks in the gel-coat layer due to the permanent fg jacket shrinking a bit on me. With a little CA glue the cracks are repaired and sealed permanently, but still.

Hey Seeker, What is that around the snaps? Is it CA glue you used to attach the snaps or something different?

It looks like Special-T CA glue (green label).
It works perfectly for me for this application.
