01Hawk WIP : Supertrooper

Have you thought of making your flamethrower functional or semi-functional at all? With tubes running to the left gauntlet it shouldn't be too hard to either have it do a fog machine effect (Like what DeathProof did with his jetpack) or a small scale functional version using butane lighter tanks. You could also do a simple light up function like Death did on his flamethrower...I am half tempted to rip mine apart to do what he did.
 
Haven't thought that far ahead but I think I just want to get the suit cosmetically done and upgrade functional stuff later. I have to draw the line somewhere and since I may not even be able to get this approved I just want it to look good to me at this point. Maybe after it is done I will add the smoking thrusters /flame thrower stuff.
 
Been a bit distracted getting my replica Vektor pistols ready for sale but I am back at the Fett today. Should have the helmets ready for primer by the end of the day and the boots turned out pretty nice

They are MOW boots. First I used Kilz2 Latex primer. It was having a hard time covering the black elastic so I tried white Plasti Dip which worked pretty well.
 
I'd be worried about it cracking off the elastic, I have those boots also and you have to stretch them pretty good to get them on.
So is the whole boot plastic dipped now?

It stretches with the paint and kinda closes itself again. Aside from covering the area with another piece of fabric it will just have to do. And I sprayed a light coat of Plasti Dip on the whole boot and it looks really nice. Just have to touch up a couple small spots where I had it taped up.
 
More sanding of the helmets this weekend. Also got a new 3D printed side plate for the Uzi. The white one is the basic material print and the clear one is the one I just got Frosted Extreme Detail. The details on the clear one are impressive for such a small piece. I also got 3D printed Borden connectors

We just got Platsi dip in spray cans at work this past week, I'll have to look into that one.

I tested it on a pair of black Dockers pants before spraying the boots and liked the way it covered. I think you will be happy with the results
 
Thank you! I am going to start on the gauntlets this week since my armor is supposed to ship soon. Pretty excited to get it all done. May be a bit of a delay on the weapons because I want to make complete replica kit for both of them.
 
A big part of my build has been getting as many found parts as I can and learning how to cast stuff etc. I want to be able to make a complete sling gun and here is the start of it. Was pouring something else at the same time and learned that my pour hole on this mold is too small or needs a seperate vent. The detail is pretty amazing in what did come out.

What a beautiful build! The amount of work that you have already put into this is nothing short of impressive. I'm looking forward to following the rest of this project!
 
I do plan on using the real parts as much as I can. My goal is to make a kit for the gun so others can have one. If I find a Glenross piece for my gauntlet I prob wouldn't use the original because I would be afraid of it coming off or something.

I figure if I make replicas of the found parts it may help people who don't want to wait for the real parts to pop up or may not want to spend the $$$. The camera/gun parts ( as you know) don't come up for sale too often with US vendors.

In addition to getting my towel earlier in the week , I tried to make a mold for the front Graflex part on the Uzi. I decided to try it with this stubby Graflex since it would waste less material. I made it a single piece mold which I knew may not work well given the complexity of the part. It isn't perfect but was a good practice run for the real Graflex which I think I will be able to recreate with a 2 piece mold.
