Just pre-ordered too...I was lucky enough to get a 1st version with no flaws and a fantastic finish...sooooooo...fingers crossed.

Having used to own a 3M window film dealership, it definitely looks like smoke film, however I have tried to separate layers and it is not a film. It appears to have the dye impregnated into whatever medium it’s on...eg, type of clear plastic they decided to use.

That replacement is MUCH better...well done, for not letting it slide and getting a new one. Just sucks that you even had to do it, but it looks like it payed off.

Orange peel like this? From the D23 Hero? Lots of folks seem to forget that the flawless Alumiluster versions are nothing more than interpretations by fans trying to make perfection out of a helmet that is everything but perfection. It was supposedly "forged" to it's shape, not 5 axis...

Well...IT finally arrived...and it did not disappoint. I am thoroughly impressed with EFX on this one. All lines are straight, very clean cast, not too much weathering, etc... I was so nervous opening up the box because of some of the early reviews, but, nervousness quickly faded to sheer...

That's a damn good looking shin armor...nice!

I must admin...THAT is one bad-a$$ reproduction piece. I too thought it was a render until I looked it up and found the full aluminium kit. Freaking outstanding work by both the machinist and yourself.

That being said...no need to call someone out for what you might think they have researched and/or their attention to detail.
