Happy Halloween!
I didn't do a whole lot on my costume since the con back in May, but decided to wear my costume to work yesterday anyway. A lot of the work was actually sewing, fixing the shoddy work the alterations place did. I will likely take a break from working on the Boba stuff for a...
I'll give some input on the size Medium costume I bought.
I'm 5'8" and currently weigh ~155lbs. I usually wear 30x30 pants, and the waist is a little big for me (nothing a belt doesn't fix though). Honestly, the pants might be a little big, even for the typical "baggy Boba". Maybe a Small...
Hi again everyone!
I figured I'd share my progress on some of the changes / improvements I wanted to make to my Fett costume.
I've done a lot of searching for some touchscreen gloves that'll work as a base for my costume. The gloves that came with the AliExpress costume look OK, but are a...
Thanks for the prompt and detailed replies ShortFuse, PinkFlamingos6, and Irongladiator!!!
While I'm thanking people, I need to give a shout-out to RafalFett, stormtrooperguy, and thatdecade for their help too.
1) Sounds like once I find an alterations shop I like / trust, I will remove the...
Hi everyone!
As I mentioned in the 1st post of my "build" thread, I wore my completed ROTJ costume to a convention this past weekend!
This was my 1st real "trooping" experience (wearing the costume for ~12 hours while walking around a lot) so I have some things I'd like to improve upon, and...
To quote Robot Chicken's depiction of Boba Fett, "back from the dead, a--holes!" :p
As I I would said back in November, I started working on replacing the 5 chest armor pieces with ones I made out of Sintra. I started working on it again a couple months ago with a "soft deadline" to finish in...
Just as an update for future people who might find this thread, I "finished" my Fett costume in time for a con this weekend, but ended up not attaching the hoses.
The magnets made a solid connection, but once the hoses moved enough the connection would fully break. Could be a question of the...
Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I initially had the hoses just "slip on" to the dowels but wanted something with a break point since the tube on the bottom of the whipcord is only held in with epoxy.
I will likely do something similar to attach the tubes to my vest. Undecided if I want to sew a...
Alright everyone, in the interest of logging info for future builders, here's what I'm currently working on:
I bought 2 sets of these magnets from Harbor Freight for $2.99 each. The info on the product page needs to be updated, the magnets are ~5/64" thick, not 1/8".
The grade / pull isn't...
Hey everyone,
I've been toying with the idea of using magnets to attach the 3 hoses to the ROTJ gauntlets. Currently the hoses just slip onto the wooden dowels:
My problem is that bottom hose is just epoxied on, and I'd like something with a little more "give" in case of an accidental tug...
Thanks! And yup, I used the same yellow for both. It was the yellow I used on the jetpack too, actually
Well, for a "budget" build it's still the best you can get a Home Depot / Lowe's / Ace Hardware (AKA "locally") in 2022 as well :p
Yeah, I ended up using that yellow for the shoulders and knees. I think it worked well enough:
The lighter yellow is Rust-Oleum Lemongrass, which I still have some of. I might use some of that for the yellow on the chest pieces, but am currently undecided. Not sure if I could "mix" them...
I'm strictly doing rattle cans; this is my 1st Fett build and I haven't invested in an airbrush yet.
Looking at a post by stormtrooperguy, I'm going to follow his build:
PinkFlamingos6 and ShortFuse, is this the correct Hunt Club Green?
Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X 12 oz. Satin Hunt Club Green General Purpose Spray Paint 334072
It looks very different than this Hunt Club Green...
Thanks for sharing! On the Hunt Club Green, did you go with a satin finish or gloss? I think I've seen it offered in both, but would think satin is better.
FWIW, I think your armor came out great!
