BKBT Helmet Buildup

Thanks for all the positive feedback.

To answer a few questions:

The visor is smoked acrylic that I heated & formed into shape. I left a little bit of a gap at the eye corners to help with venting & didn't seal up everything tight.

The gasket was made by tracing the helmet & making a pattern from that. There is a detailed thread archived here somwhere that goes into the proceedure in full.

Alot of time & effort was spent bringing this helmet to life & I'm pretty sure it will be the last one I paint up. Time to move on to other projects!

Can I join the fun? here's a few pics before the weathering.

check for pics below (n)

Thanks man. yep still using R&B. I just wanted to say you did an amazing job on this helmet.

I'll post pictures of the finished helmet tonite. Plus a few more before the weathering with better lighting.

Just took some better pics with natural lite.

The mandibles look like they slope outward a little bit? Is that my imagination?

Turo, can I see a pic of this bucket with the whole costume, I want to see some proportions as I'm thinking about getting one...

You did an absolutely phenomenal job with that bucket! Looks awesome!

No, your eyes do not deceive you. There is a definite curvature of the mandibles. I'll have to dig up the pics that show this detail, but it is definitely there.

Thats the reason I fell in love with this helmet. Cuz of the mandibles. they look like little tusk.:D

Ok here's some weather pics. sorry for soo many. And also a pic that shows a bit of the mandibles are a little curved.

Bonus! More pics! I have one more to add in natural light from a recent trooping event. My head isn't straight in the pic (I was fumbling with some keys) but I liked how the colors looked.

Man, seeing these pics makes me wish I had more time to work on my helmet! :cry

Awesome costume, Vince!

Turo, put it on! Let's get some comparison shots, too! Oh, and could you send me a template for the cheek mod? ;)

Thanks for the compliment. My armor is vacuformed styrene. I think I only made 3 sets of this. One of my next projects will be to tweak the armor & cast it up in fiberglass. Ahhh... the upgrades never end, do they?;)

Dammit Seeker! You really can depresse me! Everytime you post a pic of your Jango, I wanna trash mine and start again!
It's simply genuine awsome! :)

@BKBT: I'm not sure, if that was already answered somewhere, but how much does your bucket cost?
I'm pretty disappointed with mine and thinking of getting a new one after Ep III. And as yours is praised as the best available and even seeker-aproved ;)...
