Judging by your chalk line for the cod piece your ammo belt might be a little high. The ammo pouches should not extend higher than the girth belt, The girth belt is approximately 5" tall and the ammo pouches should be 4.5" tall. The girth belt should cover the top portion of the cod armor (see picture from the gallery).
But, yes cutting it and then re sewing the bottom would be the way to go. Just remember make sure everything is perfect before you cut it. You can always cut more off but once it's cut you can't put it back on.
Also remember that it tucks under the girth belt so don't cut it to short or it will keep pulling out while your moving around.
Also lay out your armor on the vest and make sure you can space it out evenly in the space allowed (between the neck and bottom chalk line).

Also, off topic from your question the back of the ammo belt (where it attaches) needs to be altered. It should be tapered on the end with no Velcro showing. (see picture).

Hope this helps. :)

I may have to buy another girth belt and ammo pouch. I'm not sure how to attach the girth belt. It doesn't connect together and that's almost as tight as the ammo pouch will go.

I'm really getting discouraged with this whole thing.

Any of us that have a top notch Jango Fett kit have been through this same process. That is why you see so few really well done one.

I had to resize, refit and re buy several parts. But in the long run it was well worth it when you troop it for the first time.

Don't get discouraged it just takes time and patience. I'm still working on mine. I know there are way more experienced builders on here than me but I will help you out in what ever way I can. I am making the soft / leather parts myself. I'm on my second vest right now been working on it off and on for about 2 months now. These are the ammo pouches that I made. http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/f28/jango-build-leather-working-questions-54214/ I still haven't made my girth belt yet so you are a few steps ahead of me but Cruzer has a great tutorial on here that I will be using to make mine.
What is the height measurement of your Ammo Pouches and who did you get them from? Also wondering what is the width of your belt that goes with your ammo pouches?
Can you post a picture of your girth belt (showing the two ends that need to attach together)? Don't buy a new one yet not until you know for sure that you need to. The girth belt is a little pricey.

I'll take a picture when I get home.
The girth belt doesn't connect in the back. It's the oddest thing. I can't remember who I bought it from, but I remember the gloves that came with it were ridiculously small. So I'm assuming it was from someone who was Itty bitty.

Oh wow that is way to short, I really don't see a good way to make that girth belt fit properly. I would recommend contacting Cruzer for a new girth belt. It is a little expensive but the quality is top notch.
As for the ammo pouches they look like the right size (maybe just a little short) but that is easily adjusted by repositioning the flap just a little higher or squeezing the top fold a little tighter. If your pouches are not permanently attached to the belt I would ask Cruzer if he would be willing to sell you just the belt. He probably will but if not let me know and I'll see what I can do to help you out.

Could the pouches be reused on a longer belt? Also, what is your height and waist circumference at your navel when only wearing only a t-shirt? You can pm me those measurements if you don't feel like telling the whole forum. [emoji6]

If you're looking to build your own girth belt, here are the two best alternative bolos I can find that are available at present. The first is painted brown, the second looks stained. If you can find a natural color, you would want to contact the seller first to make sure it's not clear coated in order for it to be stained.

Like I stated in pm, unfortunately the 7mm 4ply natural color is currently out of stock. However, any 6mm or 5mm would also work if you can find something. Hope that helps.
