Metal greeblies & upgrades.....

So I was wondering....this may sound dumb but what are the main reasons for upgrading some greeblies to metal parts? Do they paint better or is it just 'it feels more right' type of thing. I guess they will out last cast parts as well. Maybe its for screen accuracy.....

Anyway lemme know what your thoughts are on that and I'd also love to know what parts you have upgraded to metal which you felt were a must do upgrade.

Thanks guys :)

In my opinion it looks and feels more real. I try to only upgrade parts that don't really need paint because to me that defeats the purpose a little bit. Not only does a machined part look more like the screen used part but it feels more authentic, especially if it's based on a real item (ie; the Michell turntable parts). I've gotten machined knee darts, toe spikes, gauntlet rocket, right gauntlet darts, rangefinder stalk, some parts for the EE-3, and my jetpack beacon. No regrets on any of them! The one I would like is a Borden connector but thats not a must have for me.

For sure = you can't fake the look of genuine metal parts, even with an unbelievable paint job.
The other bonus (as my suit had them all replaced over time) is that certain resin parts can break over time. The Flamethrower and Knee Darts are prime targets for eventual damage. Aluminium can take the abuse.

For stuff like the rangefinder stalk, it's a big upgrade just for stability alone, that's a really long, flimsy, and delicate piece to not be metal.

It's also nice to have things that if they get nicked or beat up in the lifespan of the armor, it'll just wear down into metal, giving a great natural weathering. vs a big chunk of pure white or black resin peeking through.
