ESB gauntlet light set-up

What is a good way to make the right gauntlet light/switch combo without using the Eveready flashlight? I don't feel a need to be screen accurate, but I would like to put a flashlight in there that I could turn on/off. Rather than re-inventing the wheel, I thought I'd ask what other people have done.

Thanks!

Get a battery holder. You can do 9v but it won't run as long as a AA battery pack. Then get an led. I like this one

5mm LED - Warm-White 15 Degree Viewing Angle

You will also need a resistor to keep the led from being overdriven. There are multiple resistor calculators online. Here is one

LED calculator for single LEDs

The place that sells the led also sells a variable resistor that takes all the guess work out of it.

DynaOhm DC Resistor Power Module

It is more expensive than a plain resistor but doesn't require any calculations.

You connect a wire from the positive wire of the battery pack to one contact on the switch. Then connect a wire from the other contact of the switch to the resistor or dynaohm whichever you get. Now connect a wire from the resistor or dynaohm to the led. It doesn't matter which leg of the led you wire it to. From the other leg you connect a wire back to the other side of the battery pack.

Here are a couple of helpful sites.

I hope that helps.
