Jedi Braids? Wth...

Ok, perhaps someone in here can enlighten me, as I can't find ANY canon reference to this anywhere... and just got in a ridiculous exchange with someone on Facebook about this. And, as we all know.... arguing on facebook is a great idea lol.

I was in a TBoBF post, replying to someone about how absolutely stupid (in my opinion) points A, B, C, and D are in episode 4. One of my points of contention was how Boba, who the casino IS PAYING FOR PROTECTION... stands there in the doorway of the casino and just watches as an irate customer (the wookie) tears the place up, upends tables, destroys their place, assaults customers and then tears the mf arm off of an innocent customer, right in front of boba fett... who is being PAID TO PROTECT THAT BUSINESS... then he just stands aside and lets the wookie walk out. Again.... why is this bald guy being paid for protection again???? Anyways...

Someone responded about how wookies hate trandoshans, because they scalp them and take their pelts. I brought up how "well.. yeah, Fett doesn't have them in THIS series, but for the entire history of the character, Fett has had 3 wookie braids AROUND HIS FREAKIN' ARM. In the comics, they knew each other and both were employed by Jabba. Granted... the comics are no longer canon, but still.

The guy spouted off that Boba Fett didn't EVER have wookie braids... he had Jedi Braids on his armor.
Ummm.... first I've ever heard of that.
Googled it, and nope... didn't find a single reference of them EVER being called Jedi Braids in canon sources... but that was just with a quick google search. All I could find was forum threads in different forums, ,where people were arguing that they MUST have been jedi braids...

Despite all reference pictures,, going back to the creation of the boba fett character, list them as wookie braids.
All 501st screen accurate references to them are as wookie braids, even published lucasfilm reference books call them wookie scalps/braids.

I tried telling the guy it's idiotic to assume they are Jedi braids considering order 66 happened while Boba as STILL A KID, and it's not like there were a bunch of jedi to go get braids from anyways.... they were killed in order 66. And again... eeeeeevery canon reference sources lists them as wookie scalps.

So seriously.... where/when did this whole thing about calling them Jedi braids start? I saw posts in forums going back to 2001 about it, which is understandable, because that's before Revenge Of The Sith, when order 66 was a thing. But despite that, all canon sources of that time still called them wookie scalps. But still, I even found threads up to present day, arguing that they are in fact, Jedi braids on boba's armor.

If all source material calls them wookie scalps, why is there even debate?

Don’t waste the skin on your fingers in Facebook debates, especially on Star Wars canon!

Btw you are correct, they’re Wookiee scalps. Off the top of my head it’s written on the package of the 1979 Kenner 12” figure

Never argue with a fool. Onlookers may not be able to tell the difference.

Seriously.
I was pointing out order 66, all the canon (not EU) source material, even took a screenshot of the 501st guidelines of the different iterations of the fett suits requirements, just a screenshot of where they are called wookie scalps//braids, along with the requirements for them which is/was approved by both lucasfilm and disney, as the requirements for the 501st to let people troop as fett...

Still, "well you're wrong, they are now called jedi braids"
*throws hands up*

Never really gotten in online back and forths with people before who are so clearly wrong about something.
Man.... it's frustrating.

I can't even imagine how teachers deal with it on a daily basis.

Early on, in the pre-production stages, they were called 'tassles of braided hair':

And in the Supertrooper/Boba Fett presentation video they call them 'scalps of various enemies/victims':
Ben Burtt - Another feature will be... well... well the equivalent of scalps, well actually scalps of some of Boba's victims...

Duwayne Dunham - Who's got a nice somber?

Ben Burtt - Ha ha ha! Yes, right, mine's still too short... Aaa, which will be hanging down from this shoulder, you know sort of like a pigtail mite, but this would be... the logs of hair of various enemies that he slayed on the course of his mercenary duties.

In Bantha Tracks #5, the newsletter of the Official Star Wars Fan Club it is called 'Wookiee Scalps':
