ESB Right chest armor paint question

I am wondering how to accomplish the dark silver over-sprayed area under the sigil. It seems painting that specific area is not really spoken about as ive researched alot and found no direct info. Im guessing after doing the silver basecoat to lightly mist that area with dark weathering, mask off the damage, then spray the main green then weather with dark color on top of the main green later again?
