dang dont know how i missed the last part of your comment last night but im glad i caught it tonight B^) (y) thanks a bunch!!!

i was actually going to post in here that i applied the second coat of primer to the gun but just noticed i missed ONE part so ill have to do it again tomorrow :p o well it was a bad day anyways i just hope tomorrow is much better!!!

o one good thing that DID happen today was i picked up my gauntlets from the post office today!!! WOOO HOOO!!! just need to glass them to make them a bit stronger and reshape the right one a bit and they will be ready for primer!!! hopefully the rain will stay away tomorrow so i can primer the chest and back armor!!!

welp just finished with the first glassing of the bucket....a bit messy, only a couple skin burns but it looks like it went well B^) soooo glad no more rain!!! also tried out some paint and the masking fluid.. the silver paint wasn't all that great but everything els seamed to be good!!!

ive been a lil busy workin on my armor the past few days.. i now have all body armor primed and painted silver :D and got second coat of fiberglass in the bucket!! :D tomorrow i should start the bondo of the helmet and then all i need to do is get my measurements so i know how much fabric i need for the flack vest, reshape one of my gauntlets (the thing is huge!!!) and prolly cut some of it down, primer and paint those then i get to cut out the T visor and key slots of the helmet B^)

also found sum satin gray spray paint that's not primer :p i was starting to think i was going to have to use gloss :( so hopefully ill have that on my armor tomorrow depending on how fast the rubber paint stay dries B^) then i have to figure out what kind of design i want to have on the armor with the deep red :confused:confused he he:lol:

getting close!!!

also need to thank my friend for letting me use his garage!!! :D much better than using the lil back porch of my apartment :p

well i had a few mistakes the other day while working on my armor/helmet. the first one was i didn't put enough hardener in the resin :facepalm so i brushed some extra on and i hope that works to help set it nice and hard. second i found out that you shouldn't hold a bottle of paint stay in between your legs... spillt it all over my crotch so now i have rubber crotch :p BUT the good news is i have the first coat of paint on my armor!! and i cut down the hand armor kuz it was way to big for my hands  i would say i cut about .25 off but now they are the perfect size! i had planned on bondoing my helmet today and also working on my guns with the bondo but it raining cats and dogs here so i don't think ill be doing that today B^( also had a flat tire so that didn't help either :( hopefully the sun will be out tomorrow and ill be able to get some work dun! :(
o and i also picked up the fabric for my flack vest and Kama!! now i just need to figure out all the measurements and how it all goes together to get it sewed up! :p hopefully ill have some pictures soon!! :rolleyes

wish me luck!

welp ive been doing a lot of work on the bucket!! hopefully today ill have it primed and painted silver! B^) also made some calf plates out o a trash can.... all yall that do hole sets of armor out o them are darn brave!! B^) that stuff hurts when using a drimmel, bunch of HOT lil bits of plastic shootin at ya and sticking to your skin B^P all my armor now has the first two coats of paint, Silver and light gray. B^) also have the rifel 90% finished just need to add some red paint to it, and the other guns are almost 50% finished just need to do sum sculpting with green stuff and bondo! B^)

well did a lot of work on my bucket today B^) i must say my hand and arm has never been so sore than it is right now!!! :cry gaw i did a lot of sanding on the key hole slots and the drimmel tool about killed my arm too

i was a lil upset at first kuz i didnt have my camera with me to take pics of the bucket so far... then i remembered my phone has one :p

so here are the pics of the bucket right before i put on the first coat of primer!!

i used mat board and super glue then sanded it down and used a lil bit of bondo to fill in small gaps

(y)!! btw im pretty sure it is but is ther left cheek there? it almost looks like its just smooth but that could just be shadows

nice work legend... looks good, I like the detailing!
thanks!! :D im about to head on over to my friends house to work on it some more... cut out visor install the Chicago screws and install visor.... that part im very nervous about :facepalm i hope it goes well

well i have some sorta bad news :(

i was applying the third coat of paint to my armor today and noticed it was starting to rise up and crinkle :cry i even tried using primer then the new coat of paint and even the primer crinkled, not as much but still its noticeable :( i hope tomorrow when i add the last coat of paint it will look ok but im not getting my hopes up to high B^( if it looks as bad as i think it might i may have to sand everything down or use acitone to strip the paint off of everything and start over. im using rustolium and crylon spraypaint the primer, and silver are rustolium, the gray, black and red are crylon no problems till i put the black on top of the gray B^( even the red ontop of the gray did the same thing. im not sure what to do if it ends up not looking good and i have to strip it and start over :cry:cry:cry

any help or ideas would be great!!! has anyone els had this problem?? if so how did you fix it? :(

well i found out what was wrong... one paint can was oil based and the others were water based B^( no where on the can did it say it was one or the other, the only way i found out is kuz the lady at home depot told me B^P so i got some oil based tester pots... working good so far. i just hope it all looks ok once its all finished

You are working well on the helmet. It is coming along really nice. Love the peaces on the side and all around that you have added. Very unique and original.

just got home from working on my armor and im darn close to having it all painted up!!! :D

the bucket is about 95% painted just need to add some wash to it for more weathering and it will be ready for the T visor

armor is about 80% finished just need to add the red paint to it then the washes

Gauntlests are 100% painted and ready to wear... no greebles and no darts/rocket though these are just for Halloween because they are not that great of gauntlets :( the right one is a bit big and the left one's bottom half is badly misshapen so its super tight on the wrist. i will be upgrading them SOON i hope :)

knees are 100% painted just need to add the darts to them and they will be ready to go! :D

my rifle is just about finished it just needs a lil bit of red paint and it will be finished as well, and the hold out blaster (Nerf Gun) is sitting at the half way point. i just need to do some sanding to round out the end of it where i filled in the hole with bondo and then paint it up and it should be complete as well... the other two medium guns i have are.... well not so far along :( i need to do a lot more work on them to have them looking up to snuff. they may not be finished by Halloween but they should be finished soon after :)

The only problem i have right now is keeping the paint on the trash can parts.. my thigh armor wont hold the primer at all :cry it seamed like it was all ok up till i pealed off the tape, when i did that the paint came with it so i had to sand it/scrape it all off to start again..... any o yall know what i can to do to keep the paint on the darn things??? :confused:confused:confused

o crud i forgot to mention if you all have a Harbor Freight Tools store around you, you should check them out!!! they are super cheep on many power tools!! i got a heat gun and a new airbrush for 9 bucks each and this new airbrush ROCKS!! i was having problems with my other one and the paint i was using but this new airbrush gave me NO problems at all!! plus it came with like 4 extra paint canisters. This store also had a lot of nifty bits and bobs for greebles and i found sum things that look like they would make good knee darts... not sure thought i need to check the sizes and see if they will fit.. but any ways they were much cheaper on all their stuff than wal-mart or home depot!

in fact here is their websight i just found in their ad! www.harborfreightusa.com B^)

well paint wasn't quite dry yet B^( stupid gloss red paint is taking for ever to dry so i couldn't take off all the stay. and i will have to do a couple lil touch ups where i rubbed some red paint where it shouldn't be hopefully it will be dry tomorrow to where i can do some washing and then seal it then i can take pics. but i did get the last coats of paint on the rest of the armor and was able to untape it B^) i must say its looking quite good right now i just hope it still looks that good after the washes and sealant. i just wish i could have found a nice flat red paint... this gloss is just NASTY!! dont want to dry fast and is sticky all the time B^(
