i think having the barrel turned around looks like you gave it your own creative touch ( even if you didnt purposely do it) It makes your blaster unique and cool.

I have a holo of Boba from a Boba toy. I saved this holo, and just noticedhe has the gun out of the holster. Unfortunately, since it's a holo, the details are not too good. If enough interest is generated, I'll pull it off of my wall and scan it.

If it's out of the holster it's highly likely that it's the 'sling' gun from the pre-production Fett costume.

It's a short pistol with a 'stock' that goes back to the armpit, ending in a crescent shape. It's commonly seen out of the holster in publicity/prepro shots.

The esb sidearm is a little larger (the main body) with no stock and, so far as I've heard, is never seen out of the holster. It's assumed that it is the same or like to the bespin security pistols. It was (is this confirmed?) made from a spear gun. The only reference we have for it is some behind shots that show the pistol butt, and the nozzle sticking out of the holster.

Can you see which one it is? Or if the picture is in color, which version of Fett is it?

Unfortunately, it's the prepro gun. Has the stock. Sorry. I can't really tell colors, but the left gaunt has the uncovered flamethrower, leading me to believe it's the ESB Fett. Sorry for the false alarm.

no sweat. if it hasn't been out of the holster, how would you know whether it was or wasn't the esb? lol...

Does he have red/yellow gauntlets or green ones?

Also a telltale sign for the prepro suit is the excessively long drill on the left gauntlet.

If its the holo from the POTF line, its a PRE-Pro pic. (originally came on a green card right?) the older version came on the orange card w/out the holo, but it was the same pic. Clearly pre-pro.

I know this has been discussed a lot on this board but I was looking through the RPF at the Jabba Guard Blaster discussion ( http://rpf.prop-planet.com/viewtopic.php?topic=58483&forum=1 ) and I started thinking... With a little modification here and there this could have possibly been a source for the ESB sidearm.

I don't know about the ESB side arm but that is the gun they used to make the blaster where Luke uses his force powers to take the blaster from a guard to shoot Jaba in ROTJ. I just saw this on the parts of Star Wars site. Check it out click here.

It certainly does look as though the potential is there. All we ever really see of the gun is the few crappy pics that have the butt of the gun showing or the front with the barrel sticking out of the holster.

I can imagine the butt of the gun being squared off and the back of it chopped off, and a new tip... The top could probably be smoothed out, but remember we've never seen that part of the gun.

The shape is wrong. We do know what the grip of the Fett sidearm looks like and that doesn't resemble it at all.
Also that gun was used in ROTJ made here by the US prop dept, totally different company than the one that built the ESB props.

I painted mine some brown, but I left one of my zapper's its original bright orange for a laugh at cons.
