With a little help from my friends - ROTJ SE WIP

Alclad should be cleared....and MAYBE resprayed with the chrome on top if youre into more shine at that point. The real pieces aren't metal...so I mean silver paint is what was used...so regular silver would even work.

I'll try that next time around. Thanks for the tip! If all else fails then I'll turn to the trusty ol' #11.

MM concrete down...

Coming along steadily. Had to do some final soldering of the electronics for the jet pack beacon and the chest lights. Thanks to my buddy Joe here, all is in order.

You're doing a great job man! Don't get too disheartened by mistakes, than can be rectified. The Flightsuit didn't look too bad in my opinion, once you have well fitting cod/kidney it pull everything up and the knee armour helps. I sewed pieces of elastic into my sleeves to pull them tight, you can do a lot of cheating as most things can be hidden.
Keep up the good work.

Thank you! Oh, it's projects like these that help me learn how to plan and coordinate for mistakes because they happen so often. Thanks for the tip. It's going back to BM now and hopefully it'll fit right. If not I'll try some home methods like that. Good stuff!

Main green down.
Since I'm using Humbrol I had to use the ol' 76+96 mix of 1:1.
This is the first coat, what do you guys think about the shade?
I'll try to take photos in the daylight tomorrow as well.

Any opinions on the shade of green? Its not as dark as the tutorials I have been following, but it could be because it is the first coat over concrete. I'll post well lit photos of the second coat today if I get to it.

Okay, yea... After looking at more examples it looks like the color is completely off. Idk, these are the colors listed on the mind map for all the Humbrol paints. Not sure where I went wrong... Any pointers?

I don't know if it's the cold medication I'm taking or i need some more sleep, but it looks better today in natural indirect light. Its much darker than yesterday. I'll put a second coat of the same stuff and see how she goes...

I'm certainly no expert in ESB but I personally think that the most recent coat of paint looks much better than the lighter green that you had.

Funny thing is that it's the same coat but with different lighting.
I did put a nice new even coat on it today and took some different shots to see what the rest of you guys think.
This is all the same mix of 1:1, no changes yet.

And that is why there is so many discussions on the correct paint colors!

So I think I came across a happy accident when I was putting down the RLM 73 (which for some reason boggles my mind as it switches from grey to green before my eyes)
I misted two fine layers of the RLM 73 and applied more heavily at the edges. My custom mix of Humbrol just barely comes out underneath and give it a nice sun bleached look. It also helps it give a "chameleon" effect when under different light. I think that the original helmet had a bit more blue in the color though when I see it under flash... But I think this is pretty close.

Any thoughts?
