Would like opinions and tips on my helmet

If you have a power sander, I would just and until smooth. Otherwise, you are right.

Hahaha, I wish I had one, everything is done by hand I'm afraid, so I have a few days of sanding infront of me xD

Also, on a sidenote, I also went to pick up my colors today, i looked at the paint threats but sadly none of it could help me seeing how they all provide names, the paint guy working in the store (awsome guy) asked if they provided the RAL codes for the colors, wich apparantly are codes worldwide used to select specific colors, except for North America it seems.. but I did find a color I absolutely loved, but it wasn't spray paint, and I'd hate to paint this by hand..

IMG_20150211_160211.jpg not sure if you can properly see it due to lighting and whatnot

Here's the color listing I am using. I got it off a YouTube video by Lewis-fx:

Colour list, all humbrol,
majority from terminalfettler from the Dented Helmet,

Back pannels: Silver rattle can, grey 106, beige 28 misted with 94, green 78+96
Dome: Silver rattle can, grey 79, green 78
Kill stripes : Yellow 154, misted with orange 84
Mandibles and trim:silver 11, grey 79, purple 73+104, red 60, red 73*
R/H ear: silver 11, grey 79, sand 94
L/H ear: red 60, grey 28+64 (1:1), green 159+78*
We will get into what is needed for weathering when we get to thats stage.

I assume you have access to humbrol paints since they are from the uk.

hrrm, I'm afraid not, I looked all over the store yesterday, multiple even, and no such thing as humbrol, it's possible they might have it in modeling specialised shop, bit even then it'd be in tins, not in spray cans

Are you sure I have to sand it down after applying a coating of this filler? o_O I mean, it really is just filling the stuff that needs to be fixed by applyign coat after coat o_O

It all depends on how smooth you want it. Any flaw is magnified when you paint it.

Looking Good! I was wondering how you were going to get the "brim" back

Alright so! I added a few more strips of cardboard to make it accurate again ... and god, I absolutely hate hate hate! Bondo-ing those cardboard pieces they are an absolute pain in the ass!

That aside, I decided to give it a coat of primer , I am pleased with how it looks and with how I kind of want to make it look.

Now I probably know what you or other people are probably thinking, that its not smooth at all, or look at those imperfections, but I kinda like to convey to you that I take most of my inspiration from the comics :p They are awsome to read and all of them show that Boba's armor is always banged up and damaged all over the place, to give a few examples

What matters is that you like it, who cares what the rest of us think. I am sure someone would ridicule mine for not being screen accurate (which would be true), regardless what I do to it. BTW, for some reason your pictures are jacked up.

Speaking of my helmet, I am almost done painting the back panels, I just need to give it the final blue/green color. Here's how they look

What do you mean not screen accurate? xD Its looking great. Too bad I don't have those colors...

Here's the re upload

Nice videos btw xD but bloody hell, looking at them makes me depressed on how under equipped I am, oh well, I'll figure something out

I just did my back panels and added the weathering but i kinda looks off, I added 'scratches' with sanding paper wich ended up looking not so swell, so i'm gonna most likely repaint it

before IMG_20150214_162455.jpg IMG_20150214_162508.jpg

after IMG_20150214_164726.jpg IMG_20150214_164552.jpg

paint atttempt 2.0
