What is it made out of? Looks like it could be some sort of Don Post, but I'm no expert. That is a Jango colored visor though. Boba's is green I thought.
Hi Askywalker98,
Thanks for replying !
The helmet is made of fiberglass, the lens is not green and the antenna stalk is made of aluminum.
Hope that helps....
it was rumored that Mystery Helmet was cast off the ROTJ.
I had 2 Mystery helmets and they are very nice buckets to have in my opinion.I got both straight from the maker himself. Wish i still had one of them. Unfortunately theres someone selling a recasts of it now, think their doing their rounds on ebay. The problem wth that is that every time its recast it gets alittle smaller each time and details soften up and destorted in shape.

Yes, this is my bucket !
I just wanted to make sure if it was a "mystery" type helmet.
It´s really beautiful and well made. (I got it yesterday by the way....REALLY happy with it ! )
Can anyone post a pic of an ESB and a ROTJ helmet just to see the differences in color between the two?
Thank you all VERY much, this is very helpful.
Please keep the info coming.
Another giveaway of its mystery helmet origin is the slight angle in the perpendicular portion of the visor (see first image). The visor doesn't come straight down, it angles a bit to the right.
I've noticed that most, if not all mystery helmets share this trait.
hmmmm interesting, never heard that version.
Then again i'm not an authority on the subject just relaying what i was told on the RPF by several others.
Anyways nice bucket either way.

The Mystery Helmet is not cast from the ROTJ helmet. It's a derivative and modified casting of a preproduction helmet developed by Don Post Studios.
It is currently the only helmet available to fans that shares a linneage with original ILM helmets.
This helmet looks very similar to the one being offered on ebay. It is listed as being a Mystery sized helmet as well. The stickers on the earcaps have been hand painted which is what the ebay one has and the green color is actually a very light green similar to the ebay helmet as well.
Is the layering effect backwards on this helmet? I can't tell by the pic. The ebay helmet actually has the weathering going backwards whereas the silver scuff marks are added over the top of the red on the visor instead of vice-versa.
My guess is that it's one of the listed ebay Mystery sized helmets....just a guess. Hope that helps.
