*Update* 3D Printed ROTJ EE-3 Build…and Subsequent Repair.

That metal d bracket really does make a huge difference in stability.
Absolutely. There’s no way a resin bracket would hold up. The weakest spot looks like it’s going it be right in front of the hand grip.

Been doing some more messing around with this build. Probably doesn’t seem like I’ve accomplished much since last time, but it want things to be put together well before I put any paint on it.

Glued on the greeblies.

Added a threaded rod to the breach block for added strength, plus it’s similar to how it is in real life. Unfortunately, this is a part that was not included in the Airmarshal hardware kit. (Just a screw for one side was included) The real one, I’m sure is steel. Mine is aluminum. ( I used the screw that came with the rod.)

The breach action works although I don’t plan on using that feature due to the risk of breaking it.

I also inserted a brass rod into the breach block where a rod exists on the real one. (Not exactly sure of it’s function. Extractor mechanism, maybe???) Just though it added a nice touch.

So off to work for a couple of days and then I’ll get some paint on this thing when I get back home. Until then.
