Ok. Wasn't happy with the way it was turning out so I decided to start over. Sanded the whole helmet down and started back with the primer. Thanks to the help of a board member I think it is turning into a good looking helmet. Will keep everyone updated on the progress.
Yeah topical. Layered was too much for me. Yeah I first sprayed the upper cheeks blue and then misted them with black. The picture just doesn't show it. One of these days I am going to buy a better camera!!
Ok. Finally getting close. I know this is not 100% movie accurate but I think it has turned out great. I do have a question about the weathering. I am using spray paint, and have an idea but what tricks/tips are there on doing the weathering? I figure you lightly mist it from a ways away and maybe cover some of the sections so it doesn't get on it? Would you typically use flat black and maybe grey or brown? This is my first bucket but all in all I have learned a ton thanks to everyone here.
No dont do that, give it a dirty was down , I get some black and brown and oaka acrylics or water colours mix it up with alot of water so its basicly justs paint water,I brush it on or dab it on witrh a rag cover completly let dry then with a dry rag clean it up to desired affect , then hit it with a coat of Testors dull coat,
