Tips for painting glass

Good morning, TDH!
Need some advice: I'm turning my living room into a home theater (literally, a small model of my father's movie theater), and I've had some sconces that I've been holding onto for just the right project. Well, its time to put them to good use. I've been looking around for the right paint to turn the glass globes red for that old-school-theater-light-fixture look. I'm still wanting them to glow a warm red, not block out the light entirely.

Would you use something thats heat treated like an automotive manifold paint, or just a stained-glass paint/glaze? Any advise would be awesome If you actually have pics of examples would be even better!

Theres a spray thats stained glass spraypaint Ive used on taillights before

go to a auto parts store, and ask for Candy Coat spray colors. Candy Coat is a transluscent color, so you should get what you want.

I had actually thought about candy coat. I was really wanting a uniform colored globe, but the more I get to thinking about it, having a whispy pattern that the light can shine through might give an interesting effect. I just worry about it being too distracting.

Anyone every tried vitrea 160? Its a paint 'n bake.

Yeah, candy coat is awesome! I used it to fix a buddy's tailight once.

Try to find some red globes from a retailer if you paint directly on to the glass the haet will melt the paint and creat smoke and all sorts of proplems ,
now i dont know about candy spray but it sounds like its to be aplyed on to tail lights not the globes.
thats just my thorts.
