Tearing out innerds of bike helmets?

just as the title says.

just got a bike/skateboard helmet to use as a dome for my new and better bucket but I'm not sure how to go about gutting the darn thing.

Any help please?

Simple Rip out the styrofoam peice and boom you got a dome, If it needs persuasion use a knife

oh so if thats the case then use a thermal detonator

The foam is glued in with hot glue in several places. you may need to cut into the foam with a craft knife, it needs to be a sharp blade, once you have enough cut off you should be able to pull the rest out.

Hey cool idea, I was going to use a hard-hat liner like I have in my Biker Scout bucket...but I like this idea too. Anyone got pics?

Thanks for the advice. I got it out already. I had to cut out the sides before the middle came out easy.

Instead of ripping out from another helmet, why not run to your art store or packaging store and buy the foam ?

I had to rip out the foam to make my bucket. With the foam in, it was too small.
