Spanish ROTJ Fett

WhateverItTakes

Jr Hunter
Hi there!

First of all, I want to say that I really appreciate the skills and knowledge you guys have in this place. I have been lurking for around a year and I have always found impressive the amount of stuff you guys know.

I'm Jaime, a member of the 501st with a Stormtrooper build, a big Boba Fett fan since I was a child and a 27 year old law student from Spain, This last bit of information is pretty important, because as I'm still studying I don't have a place of my own where I can paint my armour as you guys do. Also, I lack the tools (like an airbrush) to do so, so I'm going to need some paint commisions to make progress with my build. The problem is that, as I can see in this place, there are some great painters in the USA, but it's not so easy to find them in Europe. One of the reasons of making this post is to try to get some help in this area. alongside some other doubts about the little stuff that I think I may be able to do by myself.

Even though there are really great and accurate builds in here, I think I would be happy If I got a build good enough to get the 501st approval. I will try my best, but I dont have a really great budget or the skills to get something as good as you guys have.

I thought it would be useful to make a list about the stuff I have already bought so you guys can give me some advice about it if needed.

Helmet: finished and painted by Rsprops (not received yet)

Armor: Rsprops (unpainted). Also bought another pair of finished shoulders from someone in this place.

Gauntlets: bought and received from RKD. Need to assemble and paint them.

Jetpack:finished and painted by Rsprops (not received yet)

Jetpack harness: no idea yet

Lights: no idea yet

Flightsuit: Arkady (already received)

Flakvest: Arkady (already received)

Gloves: Man of War

Girch belt: Man of War

Ammo belt: Man of War

Braids: Woodman

Cape: Woodman

Boots: Waiting for some Man of War size 10'5 or 11.

EE3: 501st member in Spain is going to make me one.

As you can see, I have bought a lot of stuff from the USA. These things are right now in Chicago, where a friend of mine lives. He will bring them in spring, when he comes back to Spain, so I cant work with them yet. As my savings and incomes are pretty small, I have to save every penny I can, so avoiding international shipment was a priority.

Here are some pictures of the stuff I have already bought (cant find pictures of the gauntlets though)

Ps: excuse me for my poor english. As I said, it's not my first language.

Before you have your friend ship over the items you might want to have the softparts weathered and assembled by someone in the US. 22ssplt did my stuff and was pretty awesome to work with.

Get your boot toespikes first. I highly recommend mostly metal parts, especially the wrist darts, toe spikes, rangefinder stalk, and knee darts. I buy all my metal parts from machinecraftreplicas@gmail.com, Dakota is great and makes a great product. There are other good metal merchants out there, but thats the guy I turn to.

Get your toe spikes then get your boots weathered.

Thanks for your answer crumdum! It would be nice if someone did that for me, but as my budget is kind of limited, I think that stuff like weathering and assembling is going to be done by me. I hope that with the help of you all I will be able to do it. Is it anything really complicated or can be done by anyone with patience?

About the toe spikes, as Im going to buy Mow Boots as soon as they are available in my size, I guess there won't be any problem finding a good toe spikes that fits the boots, right?

Cheers!

Hi there again!

Recently purchased these lights from a seller here in TDH:

As they are white instead of black, which is the most common way to solve this? I thought that I could put some black film over it or something like thats.

Thanks in advance! Cheers!

yeah you should be able to just put a smoke grey cover over them and make it work fine. That is I am taking for granted that the lights themselves are red.

Thanks for answering! Yes, the lights are red, forgot to mention it, hehe. I will go to the mall and look for something that can work. Not sure what will be, but lets see.

Hi Jaime,

What you have looks good! I'll keep you informed by whatsapp on my project also. Now still reading and learning, and (maybe) starting to buy things (cargo hold has also unlimited info!)

A thin face shield, like a welding visor or safety shield The thin flexible kind not the thick ones.

Thanks!! I will look for that. In the meanwhile, I was checking some of my old scans and found a small piece that could work. If I don't find a better lens I think I will use this. Also, this way I have a aprt of my brain in my helmet, how cool is that?

Here is a photo of how it works:

Hi Gory. Let's see if we can both advance with these projects. 501st is needing some nice Bobas, hehe.

Cheers and thank you both for your answers

I see you're still looking for a jet pack harness. I really like MOW. I find it very comfortable. I dont even know it's on. Glad to see another RS. They make good stuff.
Indeed I am. I will give a look to the MoW one. It's the last big thing left to buy for me now I have my MoW boots. Thanks for your answer

Already received my EE-3 from a 501st friend here on Spain. It still needs to be painted with some rust and stuff but Im really happy with the results. Maybe it's not the most accurate but it will work fine (even more considering how little it costed)

Got some pics

Well, last friday I received my jetpack and helmet from Rs Props. It took some time yo receive them but I think it's been worth it. The price was pretty good and as they are from UK I could also save some money in shipments and customs.

There go some pictures:

Now I have to keep waiting for June, when my american friend comes to Spain and brings me the rest of the stuff.

A friend from the 501st who works with metal is going to make the toe spikes for me, so that is solved too.

The only thing Im missing now is the jetpack harness. Some guys here in Spain have a non-canon-more-comfortable and cheap option, with a photographer harness, so I think Im going to get one of those and adapt it to work with my jetpack.

Cheers!
