Seam in ESB cape?

Hey gang, while pouring over some ESB pics (the recent Official Pix pictures) I noticed something about the ESB cape that I don't recall ever hearing anyone talk about. It looks to me like there's a seam running through the lowest portion of the cape. Here are two examples of the seam in question:


It much more apparent in the first picture.

In this one I only found it because I was looking for it.

So what are your thoughts on this?

The first picture kind of makes it look like a double stitch.

I'd have to agree and go with stitch.

It's a stitch and not a fold. Good eyes...I would have NEVER seen this. Well, I guess I now need a "more accurate" cape.

Yeah, I was thinking it was a stitch. It just looks too crisp to be a fold line.

Doesn't look like a stich to me. Why does it not go up through the stripe??? Also, when you see many of the older pics we had showing the cape thrown back, you can see the underside. I've seen no evidence of stiching on the backside in any pic. My personal feeling is that it may be a pulled thread, but hey, if you guys would rather have a stich there, go for it.

My best guess is that it is missing row of thread. Some threads got loose and caught on something, and it ripped out a line of thread.

I would also think it is a flaw or a "run" in the fabric... not a seam/stitch.
