Question about fiberglass (likely to be a stupid one)

Can fiberglass be used on cardboard? if so, do you really need to take out the mold, or just leave the fiberglass on the cardboard (like paper mache)?

well, now that i know that cardboard can be used as a mold, do you need to take the cardboard out once the fiberglass hardens, or can you just leave the cardboard?

In my experience, the resin sticks to the cardboard and you have to scrape the remnants off. Kind of a pain in the ass.
